Added 5,000 SBLK at 3.31
And a dividend was just declared yesterday. .05 for anyone holding on 11/27. The fact that this is down after that news is a little strange.I added another 5,000 shares at 3.34. I don't see how this won't go up.Right now 6 of the 13 shippers are green. The worst performer is SBLK despite earnings coming in less than a week. Capesize indexes keep surging too. The NASDAQ is now green by a little bit. I am betting on a huge rally here sometime very soon. Holding 20,000 shares at 3.34. Come on rally monkey.
I think so too. Plus at this price, where is the downside with this company? I will get $1,000 in dividends just to hold for a few weeks here. The BDI is way up (with Capesize up a lot). Their next quarter should be great if this one isn't. This seems like free money to me. Just going to hold this for a bit here as I see little reason to think it will go down. This stock traditionally runs up around earnings too. I think Friday / Monday will be the days to watch this closer.PRGN was stuck below $4.15 until the day before earnings. I feel like SBLK is following a similar pattern and will start to really move Friday/Monday.When looking at different lenght of charts these stocks track really close together (expect for the last 2 weeks). SBLK will catch-up.Im gonna stick with my 5k shares and double up if it hits $3.25.
Just going to hold this for a bit

Looks like we are in on the same trades. You will be happy to know PAL just hit $3.18 afterhours. All of this on a day when the USD is up. A very strange day indeed, not that I am disapointed.Mose said:I've had my 3000 PAL shares that I bought before lunch @ $2.98, up for sale @ $3.18. It got to $3.17 and then has backed down. I'll hold them overnight if it doesn't trigger my sell.ETA: I'm holding my 4000 shares of SBLK @ $3.34 overnight for sure.
I held overnight. This is longterm for me.BassNBrew said:David Dodds said:Just going to hold this for a bit![]()
Very interesting indeed. Lots of volume after hours for SBLK. Of course there is some speculation that this is the fallout of dry bulk investors dumping DRYS (who just screwed their investors AGAIN) and getting into a better managed company ahead of earnings.I think the announcement of the divy ahead of earnings speaks well to the reasonable expectations of SBLK at least earning to expectations. Some weird AH action.Someone came in and bought 50k shares at $3.51Last night zero shares traded.Im targeting $3.80 by early next week.

YESThankfully most of my shipper $ was poured into PRGN, but I mismanaged my FREE position.FREE at 1.65 in AH. Anyone else hoping it gets back to the 1.80s to at least break even?
This is crazy. a stock price at $3.45 should not offer 6x as many shares. Even with a cash infusion they would be at risk for delistment. Dodds you mind posting the link. Is this just message board chatter or a real report?Big Note on SBLK: I was reading through some forum posts on Google regarding SBLK and they are voting now regarding serious dilution (If it passes, this company will go from 50M shares to 300M shares). I think the vote is due on Nov 22nd. I also think this companies earnings are going to take a hit as they locked down more and more long-term charters (like PRGN does), but this company doesn't quite have the same great management team in place. The good news is EXM, PRGN and others are all up considerably in the Pre-Market. This stock could accelerate from here, but I am likely going to be quick on the trigger. I would much rather buy AFTER they have diluted all of the shares.
I've given up on this.....I sold most of mine yesterday for a loss and bought PAL and SBLKI'm praying for some sort of miracle of positive news to come out of COIN's press conference today to spike the stock up.
I'd love to sell mine at a loss. I'd just prefer it to be less than $1,700. I'll take $1k at this point.I've given up on this.....I sold most of mine yesterday for a loss and bought PAL and SBLKI'm praying for some sort of miracle of positive news to come out of COIN's press conference today to spike the stock up.
I must have a black cloud of dilution hanging over my head. bbt, prgn, free, and now sblk.Big Note on SBLK: I was reading through some forum posts on Google regarding SBLK and they are voting now regarding serious dilution (If it passes, this company will go from 50M shares to 300M shares). Guys - good luck with SBLK. I just rung the register +580, sold at 3.52.No bleeping way am I going to hold a company who is going into duilution, let alone X5. Can you imagine what the PPS is going to look like after that.I hope they smash earnings and they go to $5 for you all, but I don't need that stress.I must have a black cloud of dilution hanging over my head. bbt, prgn, free, and now sblk.Big Note on SBLK: I was reading through some forum posts on Google regarding SBLK and they are voting now regarding serious dilution (If it passes, this company will go from 50M shares to 300M shares). Yes I did as well. As fast as my shares were bought though, I think this thing has some legs, but I am not sure why. I will watch from the sidelines as well. Back to 100% cash here which feels like a good place to be.Guys - good luck with SBLK. wow, I actually sold my PAL the split second it hit $3.18!!Gonna drop my SBLK now with the rest of you and go majority cash.Just FYI: I have a sell set for my PAL at $3.18, and my SBLK at $3.64.
I dumped the rest of mine at 73 cents a moment ago. Totally out of COIN now.COIN is teasing me. Please, please, please, keep this up.
I was thinking the same thing when it hit $3.15, but I have decided that I'm in this one for the double. Palladium is at $375 now and not only is the trend up big, it has a lot of room to run for both technical and fundamental reasons. Management said it wouldn't reopen the mine until it saw prices "consistently above 325-350". Well not only are we there but well over and trending higher. There is also growing (reasonable) speculation that with such rich land that PAL is a bigtime takeover target as most of the larger miners have no Palladium exposure, and this one comes with the added bonus of a gold mine.wow, I actually sold my PAL the split second it hit $3.18!!Gonna drop my SBLK now with the rest of you and go majority cash.Just FYI: I have a sell set for my PAL at $3.18, and my SBLK at $3.64.
Who found the 10M?Good find David. Just like the other find on the additional 10 million of PRGN (that saved my arce bigtime).Im out for a $500 gain. Cant be too unhappy being in the green. Im thinking of sitting on the sidelines through Thanksgiving. I need a mental breather.

I'm sure I'll buy back into it within the week. I just wanted to bank some profit for now. I don't like penny stocks, because it seems like 90% of them you will lose BIG on. The risk isn't worth it to me.I try to look at percentage gains in my trading account instead of money value also. $1000 that gets turned into $1100 in a week, doesn't sound like much, but that's a 10% gain in 5 days. You somehow manage to do that all year, that's 520% return on your money! So even if you start out small, it has potential to get big.Anyone playing with penny stocks? From what I understand the biggest downside, besides losing all invested money, is trying to sell. Could you guys shed a little light on penny stocks for me, as I have no where near the $$ to throw around that is being thrown around in here. A specific stock for my example would be POPN, buying 10,000 stocks would only set me back $100 bucks, but is it worth a $100 gamble?TIA
