I was trying to figure all that out too.  What in the hell were the cops doing there?  Murdering naked guy running at you with arms flailing like Pee Wee Herman...club that idiot, take him down and cuff him.

Happened about an hour south of here. A ton of coverage, but still not a ton of details released yet. From what I've seen from family member interviews, it sounds more likely a mental health issue than drugs.

Absolutely horrible whatever the cause or motive.

From what I heard, he was a suspected triple murder which is why he was running from the cops, but also during the chase, he stopped and tried to strangle some old dude. That last part alone shows the man to be deadly threat and should have been dealt with by inflicting deadly force. It's not often that it is OK to to shoot an unarmed person, but this was one of those cases and the cops chose not to. Luckily the old man will survive that mistake.

I was actually the one that called the police since he was trying to climb into our wastewater tank to go swimming. He actually ended up on top of the fire truck throwing stuff at everybody at one point.

Terrible story all the way around.  I can't even imagine the horror that Bivens is going through.
