NBA 2012-13 Back to the Future League (1 Viewer)

Mixed start so far for my team. Here's what I got:

STARTERS

PG Stephen Curry - I drafted him for efficient scoring and he's shooting under 40 percent. At least he's healthy and getting minutes. Should turn it around.

SG Dwyane Wade - Production is down a little and he missed one game already, but overall I can't complain too much about his line.

SF Thaddeus Young - Just killing it right now. 35 MPG with good numbers across the board. Steal in the 5th.

PF Trevor Booker - Getting 25 MPG but his numbers are disappointing. Wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't picked Amare.

C DeAndre Jordan - Scoring more while shooting 72 percent and providing his usual excellent defense and rebounding. Very happy with him.

KEY SUBS

C Robin Lopez - Playing much more and much better than I expected. Him and Jordan will be an excellent C combo.

SG Shannon Brown - Scoring a lot and doing it somewhat efficiently in 22 MPG. Nice cover for Wade.

SF Corey Brewer - He's taken Wilson Chandler's reserve swingman role on the Nuggets and my team.

#### THESE GUYS

PF Amare Stoudemire - What a stupid pick. Anything I get from him is a bonus at this point.

PG Isaiah Thomas - 10 assists and 16 turnovers from a PG? What the ####? He gets 24 MPG but I can't roster him with that line on general principle.

FIGHTING FOR A ROSTER SPOT

SF Wilson Chandler - Not healthy and not getting minutes, but he could still get traded or something.

C Hasheem Thabeet - Shooting 100% from the floor! (on 4 shots). His per-minute line is nice but I have no need for a 3rd-string center unless there's an injury.

PF Jan Vesely - This is not his breakout year. Shooting 11 percent from the line. But I may need him if Amare misses the whole season.

SF Jeffery Taylor - Getting some minutes and not playing awful. Fantrax says he plays SG/SF/PF and if WIS agrees he could be a nice 12th man.

PG Donald Sloan - Good assist rate. I'm glad he likes to pass because he shoots 29 percent.

NOT DOING ANYTHING

PG Kendall Marshall - Maybe he'll start getting minutes later in the season.

PF Kurt Thomas - Seems to have fallen out of the rotation already. Should probably retire.

C Kyle O'Quinn - My 18th round pick isn't playing much. Oh well.

good to see Kyle Singler get the start and play well last night. time to move Rodney Stuckey to the bench and let this kid play.

I am second to last on fantrax but every time I look at my guys, they seem to be doing OK

PG- R Felton- 32 MPG which is more then I expected. 15 ppg and 6.5 assists. He gets 1.4 steals and shoots 36% from 3

SG- M Ellis- 35 MPG, 20 PPG, 6 APG, 3.5 RPG and 1.4 steals. Not shooting well though so that might hurt (41% FG, 20% 3s)

SF- T Evans- Expected a little more from him to be honest. 12.5 ppg, 5 boards and 3 assists.

PF- G Davis- Nice effort so far IMO. 15.7ppg, 8.7 rpg and 2.3 assists.

C- D Cousins 17.8 and 10.3. Not too shabby

Bench rotation

L Scola- Not really getting the minutes and may be benched. 14.5 and 8 for now

D Jones- 10 mins pg, 3 assists and 2 rebounds. Might be playing more

S Novak- 14 3 pointers already

C Lee- meh

The rest of my team is too awful to even write about

Im hoping these 9 guys can carry me.

PG- Kyle Lowry- Looks great in his limited time.

SG- James Harden- Trade helped a lot, big numbers

SF- Klay Thompson- Hot start, fizzled with a nagging injury

PF- Jordan Hill- Terrific per minute numbers, Love the hustle

C- Marc Gasol- Solidly consistent

Bench

Eric Bledsoe has taken a step, looks awesome

Jimmer Freddette has been solid in his 10minutes

Jeff Green hasn't looked as good as he did in preseason, not getting the minutes I thought

Larry Sanders looks like he could be one of the steals of the draft, getting minutes and putting up good numbers

Enes Kanter is the exact same as Green, thought he'd get more minutes and better numbers, trade Jefferson!

Waiting

Ricky Rubio seems to be on target for his return date

Al Harrington looks like a bad pick from me, didn't know he was this hurt

Ok fodder

Roger Mason

Martell Webster

Jermaine ONeal

Bad fodder

Earl Clark

James Jones

Ryan Gomes

my team doing pretty much what I figured:

Conley 33.2 min, 17.67 EFF - very happy with his play so far

Knight 32.1 min, 11.91 EFF - needs to step it up a little

Durant 38.7 min, 29.91 EFF - beast

Lee 36.8 min, 19.7 EFF - steady

Dalembert 16.7 min, 11.5 EFF - starter in name only. Drummond will probably end up with more minutes.

top of my bench:

Drummond 15.4 min, 10.54 EFF (min and EFF should go up over the season hopefully, to pair with Dalembert)

Gordon 25 min, 10.667 EFF - scoring off the bench

Singler 23.4 min, 9.36 EFF - all around pretty good player

Hansbrough 19.7 8.82 EFF - defense, boards and grit off the bench

Battier 26 min, 8.18 EFF - defense and 3 pt shooting off the bench.

still have contributors getting double digit minutes

Bynum 15.7 min, 5.55 EFF

Pavlovic 12.8 min, 3.56 EFF

English 11.4 min, 3.43 EFF

Mahinmi 12.9 min, 5.0 EFF - third center, possibly 4th if I can give Hansbrough a few min at C

team is shooting 47% from the field, 42% from 3 pt land, 76% from FT. seems like a high scoring team, near the top in all categories but probably because I have the most games played so far. only downsides I see right now are that I lead the league in turnovers and fouls, but again that might be due to the number of games played. curious to see how this plays out in a SIM.

My Duncan/Howard front court is looking pretty studly at the moment. I'm not sure if Duncan will continue to average 30 mpg for the reat of the season, but even if they start to peel back his minutes his productivity looks incredibly high.

Gallinari and Stuckey are both cold as ice so far, but at the same positions JR Smith and Mike Dunleavey are on fire. I figure everyone will regress to the mean and should leave me with a deep/ flexible wing group.

Teague looks to be incrementally better again this year, and Jack should be among the better back-up point guards.

Koufos and Brandan Wright have both been productive in back-up minutes, though Wright's PT get murkier when Dirk is back. Rasheed Wallace looks like he could be a huge steal if he stays healthy.

My team may suck, but boy will I be able to rebound.

Currently with the #1, 2, 11, 30, and 36 ranked players in rebounds per 48 minutes.

My team is pretty far out in front on Fantrax, but I feel like it's being held together with velcro between Dwight's shoulder/imminent Lakers implosion plus Duncan's fragile knees. I think Duncan's issue has been more of semi-planned rest based on where they are at in the schedule, but I really think Dwight is going to pull the plug on the Lakers.

Gonna be a tough decision on how I use Nash. Sit him for a few games? Bring him off the bench? Not sure what to do. Might sit him since I have Collison.

For Gr00vus:

1.14 Andrew Bynum, C
Was between him and Cousins for me. Went with Cousins. What would others have done out of curiosity.
Bynum(although I hate him)It was between him and D-Will for my pick.
Now that I've drafted him, I'm sure Bynum will play less than 30 games this year. Had he still been on the Lakers I wouldn't have drafted him, but I don't care if the Sixers blow this year so he's now jinxed by being on my squad.I seriously didn't draft him in No16's league last year because I didn't want to jinx him - I took Stoudamire instead. We all know how that went.

:moneybag:

I have some PG minutes with Jameer and MO Williams, with Sessions as a 3rd guardRight now my starting 5 looks to be:Jameer NelsonRudy GayJosh SmithRyan AndersonAmir JohsonSorted by MP/G:

My final team:PG: Jeremy Lin, Kirk Hinrich, C.J. WatsonSG: Gerald Henderson, Daniel Gibson, Sam Young, Matt CarrollSF: Paul Pierce, Kyle Korver, Jonas Jerebko, Damien WilkinsPF: Blake Griffin, Lavoy Allen, Louis Amundson, Vlad RadmanovicC: Omer Asik, Nick Collison, Nazr MohammedAlright team, I think. I tried to surround my Big 3 (Griffin, Pierce, Lin) with a bunch of role players. A lot is riding on Lin being good and I'm a little nervous about that. I'm weak at SG although I plan to play Hinrich and Korver there some which will help out. I'm predicting Lavoy Allen being my best "value" pick.
My team has been rather average. Only Asik has exceeded my expectations. Injuries haven't been too bad which has helped.

With Rondo out, I'm done.
:lmao: I think you were done long before that...
Really? This starting 5 was pretty solid. Outside shooting is a weakness, but this team dominates on the glass and on defense. That's even after a crushing injury to Brandon Rush that would have moved a revitalized Vince Carter to the bench to platoon wing man minutes with Rip and Butler.PG Rajon RondoSG Evan TurnerSF Vince CarterPF Zach RandolphC Anthony DavisBenchTaj GibsonCaron ButlerRip HamiltonSpot minutesDraymond GreenEkpe Udoh

My team has been pretty good outside of the fact that I think Bernard James would be my starting center at this point. PG: Jamal Crawford/Devin Harris/Brian RobertsSG: Manu Ginobili/Tony AllenSF: Andre Iguodala/Jordan HamiltonPF: Carmelo Anthony/Derrick WilliamsC: Bernard James/Andrew Bogut/???I need a center pretty bad, at this point I don't think I could even find enough minutes on my roster at center to fill it between James, Bogut, Donuts, Teletovic, Warrick if he is eligible, Ty Thomas, and Joel Freeland. I took a bunch of flyers on guys hoping one or two would step up to cover the 20 mpg or so I would need to cover for Bogut's inevitable injury. Unfortunately, none are playing especially well and Bogut has played 122 minutes total so far this season. Ouch.

The Jamal Crawford pick almost makes up for it IMO (even if it's a stretch to put him at PG).

So is men. Love has been hurt. Williams is out for the year. Jamison (who I was excited about) is terrible. Dragic has been okay and joe Johnson is getting a little better, but Tristan Thompson is mediocre and my rockets pf combo can't rebound.

Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio, Eric Bledsoe

Love all three. Lowry should be ok the rest of the way with Calderon gone. Hopefully Rubio gets minutes and stays healthy. Bledsoe is a beast when given minutes. One or all three of these guys should have SG eligibility to back up Harden.

James Harden

Beast, 2nd best SG in the NBA now

Klay Thompson, Jeff Green, Martell Webster

Thompson has been up and down, but should be a very good 3rd or 4th option on this team. Green and Webster are ok for some minutes.

Larry Sanders, Earl Clark

Not who I was expecting to be here, but they have both been great in their minutes. Sanders leads the league in blocks and should be one of the top Defensive players in the league. Clark has been a nice surprise.

Marc Gasol, Enes Kanter

Gasol has been terrific. Favorite for DPOY. Kanter has been very average, hoping Jefferson gets traded to open up minutes for him.

Others:

Jordan Hill

Jimmer Fredette

Roger Mason

Jermaine ONeal

Yuck:

James Jones

Al Harrington

Ryan Gomes

I haven't looked in a while buy I'm pretty sure my love, dragic, joe Johnson trio isn't going to win me the title. :X

And my Jamison and Lou Williams picks didn't help much either.

Nor did missing on Asik in favor of Jonas whatever his name is.

Austin daye is doing nothing. But at least I got Patterson and one of the Morris twins!

PG: Stephen Curry, Isaiah Thomas

After a slow start, Curry has come on strong and provided the super-efficient scoring I was hoping for from him without missing too much time from injury. Thomas will be a solid backup even though his assist rate is a little lower than I'd have liked.

SG: Dwyane Wade, Shannon Brown

Like Curry, Wade has been very efficient and his injuries haven't been too brutal. Should give me the best backcourt in the league. Brown's shooting percentages have been brutal so I'm hoping to play him as little as possible, but he at least gives me minutes.

SF: Corey Brewer, Wilson Chandler, Jeffery Taylor

This mess is why I'm not a title contender. Hopefully Chandler can keep getting minutes because he's the best of a bad group.

PF: Thaddeus Young, Amar'e Stoudemire, Trevor Booker

Young was looking like a great pick until he missed most of February with an injury. Now he's merely a good pick. As bad as the Stoudemire pick was, he's been excellent in what minutes he has given me, so between the two of them I should be real strong at this position. The problem is that I wanted Young to play SF.

C: Robin Lopez, DeAndre Jordan

Lopez was a steal in the 9th. Both these guys will get about 24 minutes per game and should be a really solid tandem.

Overall: I think this should be a playoff team, but the hole at the 3 keeps me out of the top tier.

PG: Jameer Nelson, Mo Williams, Nate Robinson

SG: Ramon Sessions, Mo Williams, Nate Robinson

SF: Rudy Gay, Matt Barnes

PF: Josh Smith, Amir Johnson

C: Ryan Anderson, Amir Johnson

Should be a solid top 9 rotation

Back end will be Kris Humohries, AJ Price, Greg Stiemsma and ROnnie Brewer

PG - Steve Nash, Darren Collison, Randy Foye

SG - Kobe Bryant, Randy Foye

SF - Luol Deng, Metta World Peace

PF - Carlos Boozer, Metta World Peace, Andray Blatche

C - Bismack Biyombo, Carlos Boozer, Andray Blatche

Others: Markieff Morris, Andrew Nicholson

Pretty tight 9 man rotation.

Might look to move Morris or Nicholson for some SG/SF depth if anybody is interested...
