**NBA BTTF V -- GREATEST THREAD IN NBA FORUM HISTORY (2 Viewers)

If the Nets weren't complete morons I would think they'd scoop him up.   Still think they should offer Motiejunas a contract too if only to for Houston's hand.
Billy King isn't the GM anymore.  Sean Marks isn't a moron but has a tough road ahead of him.

I think RJ Hunter is the most interesting of the late cuts.  He is more multi-dimensional than Goodwin and could probably help a team like Brooklyn or Milwaukee.

Yeah, him too.  I guess those guys that were waived would all be free agents at this point since its been 48 hours?

What am I doing???

I'm invested in Nets and Bucks wings in this thing.  Who needs Goodwin or Hunter when they have superior talent already in 3rd-team All American/D-League superstar Sean Kilpatrick and Tony "Poor Man's Kawhi" Snell.  Stay the course, stick with the guys who got you here.

Wednesday I believe.  I won't be surprised if Brooklyn or Philly claimed Hunter and if they pass Cleveland might be interested as they can use one of their trade exemptions.

My guess is Goodwin slips through waivers.

Hasn't it only been 24 hours?

I would guess that there are going to be a handful of teams putting in waiver claims on both, especially Hunter.
It's 48 hours.  Beno Udrih was cut by Miami on Saturday and joined the Pistons yesterday.

If I were running the Kings I'd cut McLemore and take a flier on Hunter (or Goodwin, for that matter).

I'm confused.

I agree that the waiver period is 48 hours. From everything I found, Hunter and Goodwin were released yesterday, making it closer to 24 hours since they've been released, not 48.

I was looking on NBA.com transactions and there were no waivers after 10/22, so I incorrectly assumed it had been 48 hours.  Then I did a ctrl+f and Goodwin and Hunter weren't even listed there.  Neat site.

Think of it like a Magic Basketball league.  You release a guy and he sits there for 48 hours.  During those 48 hours teams with cap space or trade exceptions bigger than his contract can put in a claim.  At 5pm EST on the second day, the league runs the claims and the team with the worst record from last year gets him (that changes to this year's record sometime in December).  So basically there are like 10 teams that can claim them since they are under the cap (Philly, Brooklyn, Indy, our Wolves, Denver, Utah, Phoenix)  and I know Cleveland (and I'm sure a couple of others) have trade exceptions they could use as well.

If no one claims them, they are FAs.

The NBA.com site is beyond horrible.  It's slow, confusing to navigate and lacks basic information.  I can't get box scores to load in Firefox but they work in other browsers.  The ads interspersed between the game scores in left column are particularly annoying.

If a team claims a player off waivers, they're responsible for the player's contract.  So they need to have cap space to take it on.  If they're not claimed during the 48 hour period, the new team can sign the player for the league minimum with the old team responsible for any guaranteed money on the contract.

I understand all of that, Eephus just confused me with his reply. Originally I replied to TRE saying Goodwin and Hunter were released 24 hours ago. Eephus replied to me saying 48 hours. I wasn't sure if he was saying that there is a 48 hour waiver period (which we are all in agreement is the case) or if he was saying that Goodwin and Hunter were released 48 hours ago (which I don't believe is the case).

The old team does potentially get a small set-off against the cap as well (for first round picks claimed its half the amount over 100% of the first round minimum).  The new team would also get early-Bird rights if they claimed the guy which is why one of these teams will claim them.

48 hours is sort of a canard though since I believe the waivers will be run today at 5pm since they were released yesterday before 5pm, but don't quote me on that.

Edit: they might also not have been offically released until 5pm yesterday which would then mean waivers would be fun Weds at 5pm.

I think they are on waivers for a minimum of 48 hours, processed at 5pm EST. So if they were released yesterday at say 3pm, they don't hit 48 hours until tomorrow at 3pm, and the teams have until 5pm that day to put in their waiver claims.

"It's still uncertain," Brown said. "I think soon we are going to make some level of an announcement. But we are still trying to learn everything we can and do this with him out of respect for his future, his current health." Bayless admitted that the results of last week's MRI were not good, and the 76ers are expected to run more tests in the coming days. The 76ers could add another PG to the mix, but right now it appears that T.J. McConnell will start with Sergio Rodriguez backing him up.

Bayless dead y'all?
Eat a ####, TRE.

Yeah, something is whack with their TS%...can always remove it if they don't sort it out.   Its not like these categories are anything but a bunch of crap I threw at the wall anyway.

Kawhi Leonard's is 483.  :flex:

Hopefully with all the leagues you've created there you have a little pull!
Just explained to Neil how their formula is incorrect using Kawhi Leonard

Their formula:  35/2*(21+(0.44*15)) = 483.0

Correct formula: 35/(2*(21+0.44*15)) = .634
