**NBA BTTF V -- GREATEST THREAD IN NBA FORUM HISTORY (5 Viewers)

Here's how my minutes are looking, pending WIS rankings and positions.

PG

Jeff Teague - 32

Jrue Holiday - 16

SG

Will Barton - 21

Jrue Holiday - 11

Terrence Ross - 16 (8 unused min)

SF

Maurice Harkless - 27

LeBron James - 7

CJ Miles - 14 (8 unused min)

PF

LeBron James - 27

Tarik Black - 13

Skal Labissiere - 5 (2 unused min)

Brandan Wright - 3 (2 unused min)

C

Marcin Gortat - 31

Jusuf Nurkic - 17

Pretty happy with my depth this year. Nice to have 2 good PG and 2 good C to go along with LeBron and his monster minutes. All with lower usage (outside LeBron and my PGs), and everyone with really good TS%.

Currently looking at something like this...

PG

Elfrid Payton 29 MPG; 52% TS, 22 USG%

Ish Smith 21 MPG; 48% TS; 21 USG%

SG

Joe Johnson 22 MPG; 54% TS; 19 USG%

Mike Dunleavy 15 MPG; 57% TS; 14 USG%

Paul George 11 MPG; 59% TS; 29 USG%

SF

Paul George 25 MPG; 59% TS; 29 USG%

Luol Deng 18 MPG; 47% TS; 14 USG%

Quincy Acy 5 MPG; 57% TS; 17 USG%

PF

Serge Ibaka 29 MPG; 57% TS; 21 USG%

Marquese Chriss 19 MPG; 53% TS; 20 USG%

C

Dwight Howard 26 MPG; 63% TS; 19 USG%

Salah Mejri 11 MPG; 65% TS; 11 USG%

Ed Davis 9 MPG; 56% TS; 12 USG%

Marquese Chriss 2 MPG; 53% TS; 20 USG%

PG: I. Thomas (33.8), I. Canaan (15.2),

SG: J. Harden (36.4), Allen Crabbe (28.5), W. Ellington (24.2)

SF: B. Ingram (28.8 somehow), K. Oubre (20.3), Taurean Prince (16.6)

PF: Marcus Morris (32.5), P.J. Tucker (27.6)

C: R. Lopez (28.0), A. Len (20.3)

I have minutes to deal, even have some flexibility at C with the league's leading midrange shooter Jason Smith ready to step up as always.

Would also like to find a way to roster Isaiah Whitehead just to make my dream of a three-Isaiah PG rotation a reality.

So, what is the deal with Usage? I understand the underlying intent, but how the #### does that play out? If you have two efficient high usage guys, does it not really matter (are they going to "steal" shots from each other?)... on the flip side, if you have an inefficient guy with lower usage, would having a higher more efficient player / shooter offset that (in theory).

Is there any benefit / detriment to going very lopsided over or under 100% usage (under = turnovers? over, no idea - pissed off players with fragile sim-egos?

If you are under in usage (and I don't know exactly how WIS does it, I'm guessing it's if the players on the court add up to 100% or something close to that), there's definitely a usage penalty that is applied to your team, meaning players won't be as efficient.  If you're way over in usage, there's no penalty, but guys will likely not hit the same counting stats as they did in real life as they won't have the same number of opportunities.  Their efficiency shouldn't be penalized though.

So... rosters... ever? How much could it cost to buy the ####### wis platform? God what we could do with that underutilized vehicle.

I read on the wis forums that rosters won't be out until AFTER the finals are done.

God this is the worst company ever.  Can we just begin the collection to purchase the wallowing in its own crapulence platform that is WIS?

We waited (on Abe like usual and a couple others) until about that time to get started last year anyway. I'd like to play around and make some trades between now and then, but this isn't really that big of a deal.

I gots me some extra front court and center minutes.

:coffee:

Hi Scoobus,We realize that in prior years, the players were usually released by now, but they will now become available shortly after the conclusion of the NBA Finals. Thanks!

Maybe if everyone sends them messages asking them what the hell is going on it might put some pressure on them to hurry up, but I dunno.

They bump the defensive ratings for the All-NBA Defense guys.  Actually makes sense for them to wait, as much as it pains us.

Inadvertently posted this in the 76ers thread yesterday but meant to put it here since I thought you'd all find it interesting:

Was on a flight next to Jered Jeffries earlier today. He's been the Nuggets director of player development the last few years. Was hearing his side of a conversation he was having with someone while we were waiting to take off and picked up some interesting tidbits. Apparently the Bulls were trying hard to trade Butler to the Nuggets but they wouldn't consider giving up Jamal Murray. I could tell he didn't agree, basically saying that if everything goes right with Murray he's Damion Lillard and Butler is better than that. He said the Nuggets could have traded for Klay Thompson a few years ago for Faried and a late 1st but obviously walked away.

He was also really ripping on Phil Jackson. Said he was straight up alseep at some workouts they were at. Said the FO is a mess and no one knows what Jackson is doing.

If he is going to be a Lillard type player, they made the right decision. If he ends up being more Jason Terry it was a big mistake. I think it's a pretty close call, depending on the rest of what they were requesting to be included.

If they could have pulled of the Butler trade and the proposed Bledsoe trade (#13 and Mudiay for Bledose) it I would have leaned to making the pair of trades.

Yeah, all things considered (positional needs, contract status, potential development) I'm glad they are hanging on to Murray. But if they could have landed both of them and still hung on to Harris they'd have been crazy not to do it. My guess is some of the same assets would have been needed in both deals.

So it looks like my squad will be like this:

Starters - Teague (32), Barton (21), James (34), Harkless (27), Gortat (31)

2nd Team - Holiday (27), Ross (24), Miles (22), Black (13), Nurkic (17)

Scrubs - Labissiere (7), Wright (5)

This means I win, correct?

Looking for shooting guard or possibly small forward (or both)

Have big men to trade (Zach Randolph, Taj Gibson,Tyson Chandler and others for lesser players like Muscala, or Willie Reed

Straight up or I can add a guard for a better player, especially if you need minutes (could possible deal two players as I have some min to spare in the front court especially) or a guard like Reggie Jackson, Ty Lawson, Tyler Johnson or Tyreke Evans' 10mpg

Also have Caris Levert and Luc blah blah a Moute for those who need minutes
