Tourney has been great so far - albeit today has been so-so. If MSU holds on and Nova beats UCONN then we are a miss from Ennis away from all chalk in the S16 which should make for some great matchups next weekend assuming tomorrow is similar.
still gotta laugh at this post. Talk about premature ejaculation

LOVED the design on the play - ran it for the wrong guy
Van Vleet was the 3rd option there, hard to believe they had something beyond that to fall back on.
Nice play design if you've got 1.5 seconds. With 3 seconds, and knowing KY would go after the shooter, they could have rolled someone to the basket and played for OT. :hindsight:

Excellent basketball game ...one of the few well-played games this weekend.

Hmm - ok. I still see a lot of great matchups. I know UCONN and UK are mid-major types so maybe you are right.

Early had a huge game, but downfall for WSU was probably Van Vleet not doing much. The foul trouble likely factored in later in the game, but he was POY in whatever conference they play in. Outside of some nice steals in the first half, he was non-existent.

Ridiculous that Marshall didnt draw up a play for Clean Tony Early on the last shot.

They deserve to lose just for that.
I'm sure he did. Kentucky loaded with athletes and were all over Early. Highly doubtful that Van Vleet for 3 was their 1st option.

Thats what happens when you play a real team
Ugh here come the doosh bags. That was a really good team that lost to another really good team.
wait one second. Youve been touting kentucky sucks for weeks now.
Yup. They haven't been this good all year. I'm not some mouth breather who can't see a team getting better.
wow great job admitting theyre good after the fact

my point was you were looking forward to the all chalk sweet 16 yet there were still a ton of games left. Since then every game has gone to the underdog. Just found it funny

I think you take the first clean look, you can't be picky, but the screening big is often open shaping up down the lane when they are switching out on shooters like you said. A 3PFA > 2PFA in terms of EV, more so in this instance IMO given the foul situation and how effective UK was down the stretch offensively penetrating.

Early smiled coming out of that huddle like Jimmy Chipwood. Was sure he got the look. Baker second option. Van Vleet third.

eta* three seconds left. What do you do?

One thing people overlook is the difficulty of actually inboundong the ball in a situation like that without getting too far from the basket. It was drawn well and a good play. He missed the shot. The end.

I guess that's true. I look at it like we have a ton of power conference teams plus Dayton (unless I'm forgetting someone). I still count Uconn and UL as power conf teams.
