I'm assuming Julius Randle has elicited Zach Randolph comparisons? Looks like a clone to me.
Pretty good comparison although he has more range and is quite a bit more athletic (although Randolph was too at this age)
Good point. Can you think of a better NBA comp?
Upside: Chris webber (cal really kept him close to the basket but he has much better handles and range then shown much of the year)Medium: Antonio mcdyess

Downside: Randolph without the braun. (So, Joe smith)

Unexpected downside: Terrence jones.
Joe Smith the guy who shoots 30% from 3 pt line???
That would be "downside". Yes.
ive watched a handful of ky games. Have not seen him take a shot over 10 ft
You may as well have seen them all because he has been planted down low. Webber was too and only moved out in college when Howard had a mismatch. But in high school and the club circuit he would spend a little time at the three and show both range and handles to get to the rim on his own.

As a note since I keep bringing up webber: his stat line and accomplishments have been watered down by history but for a moment he was crazy good. 22/10/5 with good shooting in years 2, 3, and 4.

Some good games next week. MY RANKINGS:

1. Louisville - Kentucky

2. Virginia - Michigan State

3. Florida - UCLA

4. Wisconsin - Baylor

5. Iowa State - UConn

6. Michigan - Tennessee

7. Arizona - SDSU

8. Stanford - Dayton
Louisville-Kentucky looks great because of the rivalry. I just think Louisville is going to take care of business and it will not be that great of a game. I like the MSU-Virginia game to be the most entertaining. Florida and UCLA will also be some very good basketball.
Kentucky handled them relatively easily during the season. I think UK's size will give Louisville a ton of problems. If the big guards do a good job of looking over and passing over the press instead of trying to dribble through it, UK will roll. How the game is officiated will also have a huge impact (like the UL/WSU game last year).

One factor that worries me as a UK fan is that Hancock was a basket-case during that stretch of the season. He missed several wide open 3's. That's probably not going to happen again, and the Cats have a habit of leaving shooters open from time to time.
Feel pretty good about that assessment. UL's press didn't have much of an effect but Hancock certainly did.

I would feel much better about Sunday if WCS was playing, but happy to have the opportunity...

Tonight should be awesome.
I need to have UK, UConn, Mich and Mich State wins tonight, hey Dayton is in anything can happen.
Well I got all of those. Now I need Dayton (had Kansas), Mich State, Arizona, and Mich. I called Kentucky as my dark horse team which would be better if they won over Mich.

UKs size finally wore Louisville down.
Really impressed with your boys right now. Talk about peaking at the right time. Most of the season they looked like a talented, yet flawed young team. Now they have the feel of a team with the Valvano/NC State magic. The next game with the Wolverines should be terrific.
UM + however high it gets the play of the tourney for me. Zomg "Game of the Year" type situation IMO.

Randle is overrated as a NBA prospect imo. 1.3 stl/blocks per game combined is pretty bad for someone projected to be a top 5 pick.
To put that in context with the Weber comparisons, Weber's freshman year he averaged 4.1 stl/blocks per game.
even worse he puts up 1.6 blk/stl per 40. C-Weeb was at 4.9 for his college career. He is a nice rebounder though.

Dayton cannot win today, right? I am very close to making my biggest bet in a long, long time on the Florida money line.
I don't know much about Dayton but this Florida team is exceptional. Particularly on defense. I have a hard time imagining a team like Dayton with weaker physical talent breaking through them consistently.

Didn't think I'd see Jacob Kurtz on the floor during the first half of a tied Elite Eight game. That guy was the team's equipment manager and walked on.

I think Reggie Miller is wrong about pace. Florida loves to make teams shoot late in the clock. A big point of their press is to make teams get into their offense late.

Why the hell does Florida keep doubling that useless, overmatched big underneath and leaving them wide open 3's? I can't believe they didn't make that adjustment at halftime. Young dominates him 1 on 1 everytime, there's no need to double team and continue to get killed on it.

Most of you are going to look plenty foolish when Dayton comes back to win this game. Dayton's wins just shows they were underrated. No Cinderella story needed. They aren't wearing the slipper... they are crushing the slipper.

Dayton to the Final Four... yes.

Yeah, nevermind. Someone beat me to it. Just moved from -650 to -800 in the blink of an eye at Sportsbook. Zero value there.
Bummer. Looks like you would have won some money.
NBD. At a certain point, it doesn't make sense even if it wins. I was looking to risk $4K or so. Putting that up to win only $500 is not prudent. Any team can get hot. Georgetown and Ewing was about the same size favorite against Nova as Florida is today.

Ya but how often does an upset like that happen? If it is less then 8% percent of the time then you should take the bet.
