With Appling in his current state, MSU wasn't the super power they were made out to be. Izzo should've benched him and that might have been enough to grind out a win today, but there were going to be offensive issues either way.

Shame this is how Appling will be remembered. He was really good for most of his 4 years.

I feel especially bad for AP. Thought this might have been his year. Ah well.

Could this game follow the script anymore. Michigan has been getting big leads early in the tourney and Kentucky has been getting down at half and making comebacks in the second

What a difference in style. UM plays selfless, fluid, coordinated and UK just puts their head down drive into 2 defenders and attack for rebounds.

I watched the Izzo post-game interview on CBS. He said when you hold a team to 34 pct & 22 pct (2 pt & 3 pt percentages) you win 99.9% of the time. The turnovers killed them especially the turnovers for touchdowns. Izzo said they did not play well and give all the credit to UCONN.

It was pretty much what we all saw today except I didn't realize our defense was actually that good today.
