   I never said they had never won a title.  But, when you finish the regular season in the top-8 only 5 times in the last 36 years - that is not an "elite" program.  Thats a program that made the most of their talent 3 times, and were wildly inconsistent otherwise...
You're not very good at counting.

Once you learn how to count, tell us more about the methodology behind valuing a top-8 finish so highly that finishing 9th is worth the same as finishing 300th, and why you think the TSC is infallible.

Sorry. You're wrong. Please stop having bad takes.
First of all, I am never wrong.  Just occasionally less correct.

Secondly, Louisville is not an elite basketball program.  Its a good program that has periodically had great success.  But, it is not consistent enough to be "Elite".

It is the top revenue team in Men's Basketball - so it has had that going for it.

Is this going to mean my straight A, very white, not tall 8th grade son has a shot at college ball? #notelite

Should I call under armour now or wait a bit?

Brian Bowen was the #19 recruit according to 247. If a fringe McDonalds AA/probably not even one and done guy is worth $100k, what are Coach K and Cal hiding?

There's no way the one and dones that Duke and Kentucky get every season aren't getting paid big time.

What's the opposite of when people say "XYZ is doing the lord's work in this thread"?

Sinn Fein, that’s what you're doing, my man.   And I just remembered a long-overdue ignore list designee (not SF).

Anyway, yeah, Louisville is an elite program.  Or it was until today.

Love Auburn offering refunds.  I'm sure Bruce Pearl had noooooooooooo idea about ANY of this.  Nosiree.

See, I think its the opposite.  I think those players know they are getting paid in a year and so a few $$$ now, does not really matter.  They go to Duke and UK because they know those programs will get them ready for the Draft.

Give me a 5 minute lesson on Duke's 5 stars success in the pros.  Don't worry about Kyrie Irving.  I'll give you that one for free.

   I think of Louisville as a good program, occasionally great, but not a blue blood.  More like a Cousin Eddie from Vacation...

Literally no chance in hell this is the case. You must be out of your mind if you don't think Kentucky is paying players.

I mean, anyone suggesting that any person in the world is saying no to a six figure payday to do something they were already going to do is insane.

Adidas prison guy: Hey Marvin Bagley, want $100K to commit to a school you were already considering going to, play a year of college basketball,  and then probably signing with our shoe company even though we can't hold you to it?

Marvin: No, thanks. They give us cost of attendance now.

Super duper 5 star, top-3 NBA prospect for the following year: no thanks imma go play for Kentucky for FREE, because if there is one thing Cal is known for, it's developing talent

Paying someone who is already going to UK is a quite a bit different than paying someone to go to UK - which is what appears to be going on here.

If UK is recruiting you, you are a lock to make it to the NBA - as long as you don't #### up.  If Louisville is recruiting you, your NBA future is a little dicier, and maybe you need to be enticed....

That one semester of Duke education is priceless
To be fair to Duke, because I know Kentucky does it - players have to stay eligible through the Spring Semester - otherwise it affects the "graduation" rates...players who leave early, while still eligible, do not count against the graduation rate.  Thus, the one-and-dones have to keep their eligibility, even at places like Kentucky.

Every school is paying people. Yes, your school too. No no, I know your hated dumb rival cheats and you're about to call that FBI tip line on them, but YOUR school does too.

Yes, yours.

I think when the dust settles on all of this, we should let any of these kids sign with an agent, shoe company, or whatever if they have the ability to do it. If Under Armour wants to give the top rated 8th grader a million bucks, who honestly gives a ####? If they want to throw a couple of dollars my way, I'll certainly cash the checks.

Hell yes. Pay the players.

That said, if the NCAA didn't have that dumb ### rule we wouldn't ever get that dream of seeing Rick Pitino in handcuffs one day.

Kansas is one of Adidas’s biggest basketball contracts.  I’m assuming Self has incriminating video of every enforcement officer because there’s no way the program is clean.

Heck yes.  Let the shoe companies openly negotiate directly with the families and get the bagmen and other parasites off the payroll.

Once they get to campus, let the players do commercials for local restaurants and car dealerships, just like the coaches can.
