Some funny teams in this year (i.e. uncommon).

UMBC (2nd time ever)

Lipscomb (1st)

Radford (3rd)

CS Fullerton (3rd)

Marshall (1st since 1987)

Wright St (3rd)

Loyola-Chicago (1st since 1985)

UNCG (3rd)

UNC Central (3rd, though they were in last year)

*Buffalo excluded since they are building a dynasty.
And you thought I was kidding (I was)

so, uh, az, that was terrible....

good thing we lose most of the roster and maybe the coach to start again next year...

Duke is playing in Pittsburgh tomorrow

And while most conspiracy theories are silly, arguing that Duke and UNC are getting preferential treatment they don't deserve rather than earning it through their play is really next level nonsense at this juncture. UNC and Duke have won 5 of the last 13 national championships, and they don't play Final Fours in North Carolina.

Maybe they should, though.  Save everyone some time and money.
Lol. Looks like Texas A and M saved North Carolina some money and cleared up a few weeks off their schedule for them.  Too bad they had to come into Carolina's back yard to do it.  Long trip back to Texas for them. :)

I think the winner of the AZ/KY game wins that bracket.  I've gone back-and-forth which one, but the commentary in here on AZ sold me.

I had a horrible time deciding what to do with the bottom of that bracket.
Must have read a lot of those Tobias funk commentaries.  Beautiful how everyone completely over looked Kentucky and props to the poster about three posts up who nailed the Nevada over Cincy and Tennessee losing the second game.  Strong calls there.

My initial bracket had Kentucky, Loyola, and Nevada too. Never revise! Although I always had Michigan over Wichita so I'd probably be toast anyway.

Congratulations to A&M, who were awesome. Wouldn’t be surprised if we hear more from them over the next two weeks.

I appreciate my Heels and the seniors in particular, who had unbelievable careers. Two of the juniors were surprisingly awesome this season too, after coming to school as unheralded mid-major type prospects. Fun to watch.

I hope you get to feel that way about your favorite team some time, whoever they may be. Kinda sounds like you’re a little too obsessed with other teams at the moment

Most underrated battle this tournament is Cappy vs GPJ in thread title updates.  It's impressive how well both have raised their game against such a high level of competition.

We’re having a good run here. He had one the other day that made me laugh out loud. I can’t remember it now because I am 117 years old.

@Aerial Assault, here's your exhibit A. :shrug:
Now, come on.  That's (a) somewhat funny and (b) no worse than anything people post here about Duke or many other schools.  Also, the Tar Heels just got clean, scot free away with cheating for two decades, so, I'll allow it.

But remember too that I said there was a difference between Duke fans IRL and online.  It's the biggest disparity I've noticed; most other schools' online presence seems to jibe with their real-life tudes.  Take Kansas; most of their online fans are quality and I think I mentioned how much fun we had with the classy Kansas fans at Allen Fieldhouse in the other thread.

Are UNC fans trailer trash, or are they fancy lads like Tobias Funke who get waited on by the alums of lesser schools? I'm confused. I also thought that Ripleys/Cabin Fever went to Wake Forest and runs an actual trailer park, which makes all of this extra-rich.

The main uconn hoops board, which I haven't been on in awhile, always seemed very cynical and pessimistic. Even when things were going relatively well. Might be a New England thing. They also seemed like good chaps in person or online, outside of my friends, except a lot of the undergrads. But I think most undergrads are...unformed.

UNC fans run the gamut.  I detest classism in any form, though.  The UNC fans I detest the most are the fair-weather, plastic types who infest, e.g., Charlotte.

Didn't even known CF was ripleys.  I'm terrible at board meta.   :)

UNC has their rich fans, but also pull in all the trailer trash in the triangle. I guess actually that makes them a lot like trump.

Clappy the Clown?  Good lord, the very definition of zero-achievement retread.  Ben Howling not available?  Or, heck, Jeff Fisher?
