NE Players @ Tonight's Celtics Game... (1 Viewer)

I must say that I've been a Celtics fan almost as long as I've been a Colts fan (40+ years). I've been a Celtics fan for 37 years. There you go Patriots fans.

Well, at least tonight, you, Welker and Seau are kindred spirits. That all changes come Sunday though.

What a great night to have courtside seats for the Celts game. A bunch of Red Sox players are there and trot the World Series trophy right past my buddies onto the court.

My buddies called me from courtside and told me they were having beers with John Henry and Larry Luchino courtside.

Then a bunch of the Patriots are there and get introduced.

Then Celts win by 20+.

I live in Philly now but boy is it great to be a Boston fan right now. Last week I was in Boston to enjoy the World Series with my buddies and tonight they call me courtside from opening night for the Celtics.

BTW. Sunday is going to be FUN!

How/Why? Bird didnt join the Celts until 1979.
Because I'm 48 yrs old and was a Celtics fan before Bird, I'm just as much of a John Havlicek fan as I am a Bird fan. I really liked Jo Jo White, Dave Cowens, Charlie Scott, Tom Heinson, Paul Silas, Don Chaney, Tom Sanders, Glen McDonald, and Paul Westphal. I remember Bill Russell in 68-69 as my first year liking the Celtics.

I'm just always curious about how people become fans of teams that are not from their region. I guess coming from an area that has a pro option to root for in every sport, I never considered what people did that enjoyed a sport without a team in your area. You just get to CHOOSE whatever team you want. Just a weird dynamic.

Ditto for me and I am 45. I remember Bill Russell in '68-69 and he amazed me. I loved those '74 & '76 teams, and I got kissed by my grammar school crush the night of the famous Celtics-Suns matchup that wen into OT in '76.

Enjoy it Pat! It's something to share with the grandkids.Similiar to the U of Florida past 1.5 years. Those are the only two era I can equate to it...it's funny how these times of "parity" have equated to 2 unequaled eras....

This is the kind of information the Shark Pool needs more of! Keep it coming men(?)

Interesting how the local talking heads always bring up the Minnesota to Boston deals that have propelled NE/Boston into the limelight.

Moss

Ortiz

Garnett
