I don't know any keeper league that has the same rules as another, so a lot of it just has to do with the personal preferences of those playing in the league. Some things to consider when setting up a keeper league:
- Number of players (they seem to have this set already)
- Length of time players can be kept
- Players who are eligible to be kept. Some leagues forbid players drafted in certain rounds or free agents from being kept.
- Consequences of keeping a player. In some leagues you lose a draft pick based on where the keeper player was drafted. In auction leagues, some players count against the cap. Sometimes these consequences are applied at an escalating level.
- Positional requirements. Some leagues require a minimum or maximum of certain positions for keepers.
- Rookies. Some leagues require one of the keepers to be a rookie. Some leagues allow an extra keeper for rookies. Some leagues allow rookies to be kept for a long period of time.
I am sure there are many more variables for keeper leagues. There is no right or wrong way to set up a keeper league... it all just depends on the personal preferences of those involved in a league.
