Need help identifying a song the Al Bundy way.... (1 Viewer)

Having a bet with my wife...the usual stakes (a BJ)....I've been humming a song and she swears it's the riff to Bobby Brown's On Our Own(Ghostbusters II soundtrack).  I know it isn't.  I know a woman sings it, it might be a disco or 70s song and if you slowed down the beat a little to the line that Bobby says "Well I Guess Were Gonna Have to Take Control" and change the last three beats to do-do dooooooH....where it kind ends upwards a bit.  If it helps, I think this part of the song is also a riff part.  Someone help me.

"TSOP", The Three Degrees? Fast forward to about 2:35.

That song is sampled into some other songs, so it could be something more recent, like "Show Me How to Dance".
