I'm thinking of another way to do one of these - feel free to chime in if this makes sense or not.
League name is: BALLS.
Blind Auction Lottery League Survivor.
16 drafters, 1 "banker".
The banker's job is to get everyone's "sealed bids" and to manage the rolls.
The 16 drafters get a budget of $200 to spend however they wish.
They must list their draft picks from 1-16 and put $ next to each draft pick.
Once the bids are revealed, everyone gets the equivalent of 1 ping-pong ball for every dollar that they spent above $0 for that particular draft pick.
Dice rolls determine the winner.
Rules to handle this league in addition to the above:
1. Draft picks are determined in order (i.e. first pick is determined)
2. Once a bidder has a draft spot, their money is eliminated from all future rolls.
3. If more than the maximum sided die would be needed (say over 1,000 chances), then you have two (or more) roll-offs. Bifurcation (split) of the 2 or more rolls would be equal and the largest bidder is split to make it the most even. Roll-offs follow the winners of semi-finals.
4. Only the minimum sided die need to be rolled.
5. Logic can dictate outcomes - meaning that if 3 owners all have 1 pingpong ball for Slot 15, a 6-sided die where each owner is represented by 2 numbers is sufficient.
6. Every drafter has 1 ping pong ball in every round until they get a draft spot. So again, $1 = 2 chances, $3 = 2, etc.
7. All other normal Survivor rules (WSL, SSL, PDSL) are observed based upon time of year of the draft.
