Post NFL Draft 25 Survivor (2 Viewers)

I wouldn’t take him yet in most leagues but in best ball I figure burden could be a bargain here.

I have Bijan in my main league but not allgeier, so taking him here mitigates that risk somewhat.

My team lacks true star power other than burrow, but I like it so far.

@Mr. Irrelevant Otc

Algier was my predraft before Chubb

Algier was my predraft before Chubb
Almost took him last round, but was nervous about my Qb2

Speaking of RB rooms, I finally got my third after going RB/RB to begin the draft, added Trevor Etienne, rookie at Carolina as RB62 at pick #226

7.13 QB13 -Brock Purdy, San Fran
Waited a long time to take a QB, wanted to try and get one several rounds earlier but it just ended up falling this way.
San Fran went 6-11, no way to sugarcoat it after they lost to KC in the Super Bowl previous season.
The loss of CMC, Aiyuk, Deebo in and out of the line up, Kittle got banged up, Jennings was his only option some weeks.
Contract up in the air, reports are the two sides are FAR APART, that's not promising.
His upside is Top 10, has been very consistent. I don't think of him as elite but I already knew my target for QB2 and felt like the combo I created will work out
QBs were flying off the board and by the next turn Rounds 9/10, we would be 27 QBs deep already.

10.04 QB28 -Geno Smith, Las Vegas
Threw for 4,200/30TD a couple years back under Carroll. The Raiders traded for him and are surrounding him with decent weapons
If Jeanty is worth a Top 5-8 pick in the 1st round then certainly Smith is gonna cruise past QB28, 3800-4,000 yds and 20-25 TD and steady starts each week will pair well with Purdy

Fairly cheap pairing, would have liked CJ Stroud but didn't take him in Round 8 to make sure I would have him, by the 9th the carcas of QBs was picked clean minus Geno

Picks #45 and #52

3.13 RB - RJ Harvey - Denver
I haven't seen a rookie RB class this strong since 2008, even guys that appear to be 3rd on certain depth charts have upside late
Harvey is one of the few RB drafted to already be penciled in as RB1 on depth charts throughout the internet
I'm not going to oversell his skill set, he's battled injuries but he looked great in college last year.
B2B he racks 1,650/17TD and then 1.850/25 TD and roughly the same number of touches both seasons
Denver traded back but then invested a 2nd round selection for Harvey, they could have had many different RB and they targeted him for a reason
I like the Devner offense and how they have evovled under Coach Sean

4.04 RB - Kaleb Johnson - Pittsburgh
Why take one of the top RB prospects when you can flex several so I started to build a 3-Man rotation at the top I felt good about.
I might not have the Top RB1 but I feel strongly I have 3 RBs that all can easily crack the Top 20, all 3 should see the most touches
Johnson was the primary weapon in Iowa on a team that has a hard time scoring so he's used to the style of offense that awaits him Pittsburgh
I'm sure he will see some competition at times for touches, especially on 3rd down but as an RB3 and the lead RB taking off for the Chargers, lot of touches to go around

I’ll take guys I’ve never heard of for $500 Alex.

Actually, I’m not clowning on you. MOP, I’m just way out of the loop this year.

Only 78 picks remain and all DSTs are gone. Three teams took three DSTs and three teams went solo at the position.

One team still solo at QB, while four teams have tripled up there.

All but one team has either four or five RBs, but one team has seven.

All but one team has either five or six WRs, but one team has seven.

All but one team has either two or three TEs, but one team has four and all four were drafted on the earlier side and should be productive as flex players.

Only depth players remain and so do we have any of our drafters that would agree that twenty rounds is sufficient?

This is misleading, in some cases the third QB is just insurance for one of the first two

Plow on and on and on.

Will look at where we are on Tuesday evening and make a decision on when or if we pause the draft on Wednesday.

with basically sleeper / lottery picks remaining, I’ll look at this mess of a team

QB - Joe Cool, Cam Jam
Stud and a player I hope does well enough, might have waited too long on the backup but if I lost Joe I’d be in trouble anyway

RB - Judkins, ekeler, allgeier, J hunter, pollard
One of the worst groups in this draft, just hope for a couple usable scores most weeks

WR - burden, Nico, Zay, pearsall, shaheed, Roman
I kind of like this group. Pearsall should go higher than the 8th / WR47

TE - mcbride, JJ, T ferguson
I have some high hopes for ferguson, even in a crowded room. McBride is second only to bowser.

DEF - lions, titans
 Wasn’t planning on getting my two favorite teams but I’ll take it.

It will take luck and my backs are weak, but overall I like this team in a 16 team league.

using 100 points as kind of a cutoff....

24 non PK's went undrafted and finished with 100 points or more in the 20 round MBSL last year....

of the 32 DST's that got drafted....9 of them failed to reach 100 points....3 failed to reach 75

2 more rounds ain't gonna kill anybody....and there's gold in them there hills....long shot dart throws or your backup QB's may save you a week or two....(hell the whole season if you lose your starting QB week one)...

I hope we don't pause, there really isn't much that folks can do at this point to counter the schedule tomorrow
And I also hope we don't see teams suddenly slowww down before tomorrow, that would be kind of not cool

-You're doing a great job RZR keeping things moving. I want to dissect your team, just haven't had the time I wanted in recent days.
Hoping I can have a look tonight and start giving my feedback on some of the other teams

I might Be naive but with 18 rounds down, all defenses gone, all slated starting QBs gone, I don’t think there’s a whole lot to do in the event we suddenly have bye week issues.

I wanted to look at @bro1ncos first as I seem to like his team on most turns and I drafted a couple spots before him and then after on the way back

Murray, Kyler ARI QB
Williams, Caleb CHI QB (Q)
Chubb, Nick CLE RB
Gordon, Ollie MIA RB (R)
Henry, Derrick BAL RB
McLaughlin, Jaleel DEN RB
Warren, Jaylen PIT RB
Lockett, Tyler TEN WR
McCloud, Ray-Ray ATL WR
McMillan, Jalen TBB WR
Mims, Marvin DEN WR
Moore, D.J. CHI WR
Thomas Jr., Brian JAC WR
LaPorta, Sam DET TE
Mayer, Michael LVR TE
Strange, Brenton JAC TE
Bears, Chicago CHI Def
Panthers, Carolina CAR Def

[th]

1st/2nd BTJr and Henry at RB, splits the picks nicely and gets a terrific WR1 and Henry will likely see the bulk of the action at RB for the Ravens. Threat for 100/TD almost every week
3rd/4th La Porta at TE and Moore from the Bears at WR. Lot of mouths to feed in Chicago, La Porta Year 2 not as good as he was as a rookie.
That said, you have a possible Top 3 TE and a solid WR 2 in a 16 team format. The dip in yds per catch is what scares me, hopefully the new coach fixes things

5th/6th Murray and Williams at QB, this is all subjective to where you have guys rated, I would imagine Caleb is much higher on his QB list than mine. I could say the same when I took Purdy as my QB1 in the 7th, I'd bet he wasn't even on Bro1ncos radar so i'm not going to knock the choices but I will say I don't value them as highly as he does. That said, the 1-2 punch at QB on the turn very effective and likely made it easier for him to take chances the rest of the way with anchors at all 4 skill positions

-How am I doing so far Bro1ncos ?

7th/8th Warren as his RB2, you never know how things will shake out in Pittsburgh right now. Warren has good hands and they just launched Pickens to Dallas, there are some targets to go round. Not as big a fan of Strange but I see that he wanted to find his 2nd TE and settled here. Liam Coen uses the TE spot sparingly in his offense, chooses to exploit the WRs and RBs much of the time

9th/10th Mims and McLaughlin, double dips into the Denver offense with primarily guys that are secondary in touches at their positions, if injuries hit which they usually do in the NFL, one of these could turn into a nice find down here.

11th/12th Lockett and McMillan to add some WRs into the mix. Outside of Thomas and DJ Moore, there's not a lot ot hang your hat on at WR, most of the rest are used sparingly or watched guys drafted that likely take away their share of being a WR3 in their own offense like McMillan who watched Egbuka drafted and being slotted as the Bucs WR3 now

13th/14th Nick Chubb will be signed eventually and the Bears give him a decent defense to pull from, added Carolina in the 17th, not exactly stout

I liked Ollie Gordon on the 17/18 turn, wanted to have him at some point on my roster, late pick by Miami but has really good size and I think they will use him more than some think

Nice draft, decent team, need some things to happen for reserves to become more involved. That will be true for many teams in this format.
Cheers!

22 Rounds is OK by me, at this stage of the Season. I actually would have preferred 24, but with no PK, 22 is fine.

If we follow through and this is the 1st of 4 (Post-Draft, some other relevant summer benchmark, Pre-Training Camp, Post Final NFL Roster Cuts) Survivors, I'd advocate that we progressively drop Rounds, as situations become more clear, working through 20 and down to 18, during the final Draft of the Off/Pre-Season, which should be held in conjunction with NFL Roster final cut-downs.

My other half's great aunt, who we've been looking after for the past several years (Primary Caregiver, POA, Legal Guardian), has been in hospice/palliative care for a little over a month, passed last night at the ripe old age of...

...wait for it...

...One Hundred and Two!!! (pretty severe Alzheimer's/Dementia issues building up over the last 5 or so years).

That's one hell of a ride. Very cool lady.

We've been expecting, planning for this for quite some time, so we're very organized and it's all about checklist/filling in blanks, attending to details. No need for anyone to expend time or energy posting condolences, etc - we've all 'known' each other for years, and we're all good guys, so I know, and I'm grateful for any thoughts and prayers coming our way. We've got this, and she's in a better place.

The most important thing for my other half was that she was there with her, when she passed out of this world, and, as we choose to believe, into God's heavenly mansions.

Eastern Orthodox Christians offer to God a beautiful traditional prayer when someone dies, asking that the soul of the departed be given rest in "a place of brightness, a place of repose, where all sickness, sorrow and sighing have fled away."

I think that's pretty cool.

Cruz Maria Lemus, :banned:...my life is better, for you having been in it.

Apologies for the interlude. Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Thanks for sharing. 102 is quite a good run. At speed we are going we might need to live to 102 to finish.

I understand @nittanylion , my Mom passed away in December and I was thankful to be with her as she passed, age 92.

It's already past 4:00 in the East, I can cruise to 10:00 and fall asleep, wake up tomorrow morning at 6 and make my pick.
I'm kidding

I'm sure OM has a reason, he might not even realize he's on OTC

I hope we don't pause, there really isn't much that folks can do at this point to counter the schedule tomorrow

Bye weeks less of an issue with the format adjustment anyway,

TBH.....it might be nice to add Team PK in these moving forward...not sure if MFL can handle that or not....but just sayin....eliminate injury/cut factor...

last year Team PK....PIT led at 8.9 PPG and CLE was last at 4.2 PPG.....sooooo....some room there for a difference to be made considering it's about 6 or so give or take between top DST and last DST...anything to add a little more strategy is usually a good thing....

I kind of look at it like this....Sanders may not be drafted at QB....but people always say something like...."well could be starting by week 6 or whatever"....so why not bring some of those things possibly into play....let's see what people really think about Daniel Jones vs Richardson or Sanders vs the field .....is Mahomes really better then Minshew.....you know...**** like that you can throw against a wall...

Yes he is, 6.8 ypa to Minshaw's 6.6. Now if you were talking about Levis, Fields, Pickett, Trubisky, or Hooker at 6.9 then we have a debate.
