I have been on the fence about this, however, the word is that this is pretty incredible and the trailer looks to bear this out:

By pretty incredible I think they mean lots and lots of CGI.

Can't really tell what's going on there. Mad Max who I'm assuming is Hardy looks like he is a hood ornament for most of the movie.

Hopefully it's more like Road Warrior and less like the one with Tina Turner.

Agree with this but the original movie was a low budget masterpiece, the next two of the trilogy were good not great, and horrendous. They could have gone with Mad Peppe or Mad Steve or something.

Agree with this but the original movie was a low budget masterpiece, the next two of the trilogy were good not great, and horrendous. They could have gone with Mad Peppe or Mad Steve or something.

Pretty much, though I'd say the first half of Thunderdome was awesome and the second half was pretty bad (so pretty decent on average is about right).

I like Mad Max the best even with its faults. The side characters were top notch , Goose ,Fifi , Johnny the boy , Toe Cutter , Night Rider , Cundalini and the great Bubba Zanetti

Because Mad Max was so low budget, most people saw Road Warrior first (I did) and then went back and watched Mad Max. If Mad Max had the same budget as Road Warrior it may have been the better movie. But because so much more was spent on the Road Warrior, it has a much better look to it (in my opinion).

Agree, and Thunderdome was ruined by being PG-13. Really sold out on that one.

A lot of the car stuff looks pretty real, too.

Just wish it didn't look like it's going to be a quasi Road Warrior reboot.

TG for Mad Max and Terminator. Even if they are butchered totally they will be better than 99% of the craptastic Transformers type action movies Hollywood has come up with lately. Other than The Road and Book Of Eli I haven't seen anything remotely worth watching in years from this genre.

Hey we agree on something though I probably like Mad Max a little more than you. Didn't think it was too hokey although the acting was pretty poor by nearly everyone involved. Still the premise and closing chapter are really good.

As for the reboot I like Hardy but am really unsure about all this. Gibson IS Mad Max. Yes I know other characters have been rebooted successfully but I'm not feeling great about this. I also think it's odd how little of Max is shown in the trailers so far. They're focusing heavy on the action and not on his character at all.
