New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers -- NFC Wild Card Game Thread (1 Viewer)

As I said, the Vikes are far from worrisome.  And if you are expecting the same as week 1, so be it.  Not going to happen.  I guess you didn't watch what Brees did yesterday.
Not a knock on Brees by any means but the panthers secondary is not anywhere near as good as the Vikings. Brees did look great as usual at home though

I watched it.

The Panthers defensive backs likely worse than the Saints. And definitely worse than the Vikings.

You go ahead and think Brees is going to just throw all over the Vikings though. Just be prepare to be disappointed.

Calm down man.

No vikings fan expects a week 1 repeat.

Mainly because we lost our starting QB and RB. Take Kamara and Brees off your team and tell me how you’d be feeling.

And yet MN has a better record than NO.

So I expect an even larger beatdown. 31-10. SKOL.

He had nearly 300 yds and a td on them week 1.  I'm not going to be disappointed.  He didn't have the running game then either.  Again, this is a very different team than week 1.  I never predicted a win.  I see two different teams than week 1 which has me very optimistic.   You keep underselling the defense.

I'll take the SB winning head coach and HOF QB with the experience.

LOL....I'm no more worked up than Bia.

Injuries are a part of the game as everyone says.  Take a look at how many IR'd players on defense the Saints have.

Minny has 2 more wins than the NO.......in a cupcake division due to the Rodgers injury.  They also played the Browns, Buccs, and Bengals.  NFC South has 3 playoff teams.  NO is 4-1 against the other two teams.

Keep dreaming.

Saints have won every game this year (4-0) where they've committed 4 penalties or less.  Minny is 2-2 in games where they've had 4 penalties or less.

It's going to come down to the refs, and while that does not breed confidence, if it's a "lettem play" kinda game I think the Saints take this one.

#3 scoring offense/#10 points allowed defense vs #10 scoring offense/#1 points allowed defense.

It's actually a great matchup between two very balanced teams. Vegas has Minnesota at -4 and they have home field, meaning they see this as very close to a pick em on a neutral field.

So to summarize:

Payton made a gutsy and/or dumb call to go for it on 4th down

Carolina DB didn't knock down the ball like he should have.

He made/didn't make a catch based on a convoluted rule that officials didn't really review like they should have.

Cam either committed intentional grounding or he didn't.

Cam should have gone through the concussion protocol but didn't.

Cam may have faked it as directed to by the Carolina sideline to give his backup time to warm up. It really was just something in his eye.

Sounds like there's plenty of blame to go around.

This thread is still going.    As a Panther fan, All I have to say is there were a few questionable things in the wild card game, but the bottom line is the cats didn't do enough to win. The Saints have been the better team all season, and they won the game. The Panthers will get revenge next season  :football:   Right now the biggest questions for us Panther fans is who is going to be the new owner? Will the team stay in the Carolinas? Will we have a new GM? Who will be the OC?  What kind of gum does Cam chew? Etc.
