I've never seen Tomb Raider. It looks awful.

However, this reboot has promise:

This was not a terrible movie. 

The reason it failed was because they played it too safe and basically turned the 2013 video game into a movie. So there was almost nothing new to see here. 

Alicia Vikander is a good Lara though.
