New Tootsie Roll CEO (1 Viewer)

He boasted that Tootsie Rolls were almost indestructible.

"Nothing can happen to a Tootsie Roll. We have some that were made in 1938 that we still eat," Gordon told the AP in 1996. "If you can't bite it when it's that old, you certainly can lick it."

So he was 30 and she was 18 when they got married.

And I'm not sure why it's that sad. 65 years together is a roaring success.

I can't believe a public company would name the 80 year old widow the CEO.
I worked for the company that prepares their quarterly SEC filings.... great company to work with.

They'd send a huge box filled with rolls after each filing.

Edit: My parents were 28/19 when they first met. :oldunsure:

If I had a nickel for each time I heard that.

They must be doing something right because 90% of the candy thrown at the parades we go to are tootsie rolls. So they have the parade market cornered.

When a float throws a Kit Kat or Freezee, those things are treated like gold and much appreciated.
