Well I have to say that some of these would have no chance with me, like Police Academy, Highlander (Suzy a terrible film!) Major League, a few others. Blood Simple is an excellent film and was on my short list.

No Major League should be punishable by law. I would say the same about Coming To America, Vacation, Christmas Vacation and The Lost Boys.

But we had Hannah and Her Sisters!!!

loat boys is the best movie!

Big Trouble in Little China should have been on it. A timeless classic.
Now it's my turn but I'll be less verbose...
That movie suuuuccked. I didn't make it even half way through. And I like both Carpenter and Russell.
I am more with you on this one. It is also one I didn't watch until about a decade ago, and I am not the biggest fan of Russell outside The Thing.

I remember loving All Of Me. It has been mentioned above, but just wanted to echo. The scene where Lilly Tomlin was in control of his right hand while he was trying to pee was a scream. Martin had some excellent physical comedy bits. Victoria Tennant was so hot. Prahka Lasa saying "ring" every time he flushed the hotel toilet?? Martin telling Wattell that he was white??

None of the Stars Wars movies should touch a list like this. I share Bill Burr's take that you probably had to see those films as a kid, but I didn't see them until I was an adult and, like Burr, was like, "okay, next."

A bunch of glaring omissions. Too many to list them all.

Still a fun follow.

I don't know man. Star Wars is just a cultural phenomenon. I'm not the biggest proponent of "X made a ton of $$$ thus it's good" but if you are pulling in Brinks trucks worth of money you just might be doing something right.

That seems like being contrarian just to be contrarian.

A list of Top 100 movies from the 80s that didn't include ESB would be rightfully derided. Leave ROTJ off such a list? Sure. But not ESB.

These all easily make my top 100 and were not included in the list

The Road Warrior (top 25)
The Natural (top 25)
Coming to America
Major League
Vacation
Xmas Vacation
Revenge of the Nerds
Heartrbreak Ridge
A Nightmare on Elm Street

This could have replaced another Kurt Russell movie on Tim's list - The Best Of Times. I remember seeing that one in the theater and being very disappointed. I tried watching again recently because it had Robin Williams and Russell in it, so it must be good. Wrong, it's a turd.

one of my all-time favorites. watch it at least once a year.

"when he was a #####, Reno Hightower was the greatest QB in the history of South Kern County"

Yeah, Best Of Times is a favorite of mine too.

Highlander is not good.

The soundtrack is fantastic. (Major Queen fan here.)

Why did your parents do that to you?
It wasn't easily accessible :lmao:
No Blockbuster near you?

I was joking - it was also on cable TV and broadcast TV if you missed it n the movies.

I wasn’t the one who never saw it. I’ve seen it probably 30 times or more including when it was re-released in theaters in the 2000s.

Do yourselves a favor and watch Siskel and Ebert just eviscerate and poop all over St. Elmo's Fire. This is *chef's kiss*

Might have to fast forward a few minutes.

I especially love the sick burn on Joel Schumacher.

I miss that show.

oh no no, I was objecting to leaving ROTJ off.
I had a teddy bear as a kid named Jack. Jack was horrified by the Ewoks and went into hiding for a long time, lest someone confuse him with those horrid creatures. I can’t dishonor Jack’s memory by having that picture anywhere near my list.

The US theatrical version made no sense. It was cut and organised incompetently
The International version was much better, but i would get why someone would like neither version.

I enjoyed it a lot. Queen Soundtrack was an added bonus

They both just went to town in this movie...they were so so so good at identifying what was right and what was wrong with film and played off each other beautifully.

I miss those guys and their show quite a bit.
