So what was the deal with Mariah? It almost seemed like there was a TelePrompTer issue but does she really not know the lyrics to her own songs?

They are trying to spin it as an equipment malfunction, but she was trashed as the day is long. When your handlers are having to carry you from place to place on stage and are holding you up as the ball drops, yeah, that's not a equipment malfunction.

But all is well, we are only a few weeks/months away from the (insert whoever's name) interview with Mariah where she breaks down and talks about her failed marriages and hitting rock bottom.
