Note to self: do not draft a Raiders WR. Man, that's a crowded house: Porter, Curry, Mike Williams, Gabriel, Taylor, Higgins, etc.Shefter's report is good enough for me.Wow, so much for Keyshawn to Oakland. Mr. Johnson, I have Green Bay on line 1 for you.
Quantity does not equal quality.Note to self: do not draft a Raiders WR.
Not really. There will be a pecking order just like with any other team.Curry will start. Porter will start if he doesn't open his mouth or park in Big Al's parking space again.Taylor is likely to be the WR3 if he catches on, or even WR2 if Porter messes up. Taylor's never been special but just OK. If he doesn't catch on, no guarantee he makes it through camp without being cut.Williams has nothing guaranteed. He'll have a chance to make the team and have a role if he doesn't putz out like he did in DET (weight was just one issue -- he was also late to practices, running the wrong routes, not knowing the plays, etc.). WR4-6 if he makes the team. Gabriel wasn't a starter in OAK when he was there before (except when injuries hit), and showed after a short time in NE that he wasn't starter material. He's fine on a fly pattern, but lacks all around starter ability. WR3-5Higgins will have a year to learn and won't see the field much. Maybe the 5th WR this year, depending on the success of others.Say bye bye to Morant and Whitted, unless one or more of the above don't make the team.Note to self: do not draft a Raiders WR. tells you how bad the situation is in Oakland . . . of course, their problems would've been solved by taking Johnson in the 1st and another QB in the second . . .Why?Why sign Travis Taylor? Why?
Maybe they are about to trade Porter...tells you how bad the situation is in Oakland . . . of course, their problems would've been solved by taking Johnson in the 1st and another QB in the second . . .Why?Why sign Travis Taylor? Why?
who would want him??Maybe they are about to trade Porter...tells you how bad the situation is in Oakland . . . of course, their problems would've been solved by taking Johnson in the 1st and another QB in the second . . .Why?Why sign Travis Taylor? Why?
They are not going to trade Porter. They signed him to take a look at him. He will either catch on right away or be cut.....no big deal fellas.Maybe they are about to trade Porter...tells you how bad the situation is in Oakland . . . of course, their problems would've been solved by taking Johnson in the 1st and another QB in the second . . .Why?Why sign Travis Taylor? Why?
it's not a big deal, but it goes to show you how desperate they are . . .They are not going to trade Porter. They signed him to take a look at him. That's pretty much how I see it.I actually like the pick-up. He'll be a good #3 and is better Porter insurance than the other guys.

no . . . the Minny passing situation is just ............. sad . . .artialhijack:In other news... does this say anything about Troy Williamson or S. Rice's stock on the rise. IIRC Marcus Robinson was released in December. Is anyone left besides these 2 - worthy of even a (very) late round flyer in MN?
i have a feeling they still aren't done. not much here right now.Not really. There will be a pecking order just like with any other team.Curry will start. until he gets hurt againNote to self: do not draft a Raiders WR. Man, that's a crowded house: Porter, Curry, Mike Williams, Gabriel, Taylor, Higgins, etc.
Porter will start if he doesn't open his mouth or park in Big Al's parking space again. he will open his mouth. it's a matter of when, not if.
Taylor is likely to be the WR3 if he catches on, or even WR2 if Porter messes up. Taylor's never been special but just OK. If he doesn't catch on, no guarantee he makes it through camp without being cut. major bust, but cheap, and available. hey why not add gardner, and boston too

WR4-6 if he makes the team. hasn't he already come up lame in mini-camp?
Gabriel wasn't a starter in OAK when he was there before (except when injuries hit), and showed after a short time in NE that he wasn't starter material. He's fine on a fly pattern, but lacks all around starter ability. WR3-5 true. closer to WR5
Higgins will have a year to learn and won't see the field much. Maybe the 5th WR this year, depending on the success of others.

Taylor was released some time ago with no intent to re-sign him, so his signing in OAK is a non-issue for MIN. The earlier release of Taylor however (as well as the release of MRob you that mentioned), obviously created opportunity for others.Williamson will be given another opportunity to develop. He says he had a vision problem that's now been corrected and that should help (I've forgotten the details, you can research if interested). This may be his last year to show he has what it takes.Rice will have to show he can start as a rookie, and I think they'd love him to be able to do that.Bobby Wade was signed in free agency for more coin than most thought he should have been paid, and he looks to be either the #3 or the #2 if Williamson and/or Rice aren't ready to assume a starter's role.Aundrae Allison was drafted in the 5th round. He could make the roster and be a contributor, or end up on the practice squad. Also drafted was Chandler Williams in the 7th, who will probably land on the practice squad.McMullen became the default starter once Taylor was released, but the drafting of Rice (and Allison maybe) and the signing of Wade drops him down.Hankton was signed this offseason, but he's just a special teamer if he sticks. Jason Carter, Maurice Mann and Martin Nance will be hoping for a roster spot.artialhijack:In other news... does this say anything about Troy Williamson or S. Rice's stock on the rise. it's the dog days of May; nothing is irrelevant . . .Travis Taylor signing with the Raiders is probably the most irrelevant fantasy news I have ever seen.
Even more irrelevant than the rookie UDFA running back (Curtis Brown of BYU) they also signed today?http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10192697/rssTravis Taylor signing with the Raiders is probably the most irrelevant fantasy news I have ever seen.

You must have missed the Mike Williams signing.Travis Taylor signing with the Raiders is probably the most irrelevant fantasy news I have ever seen.
Isn't this the second time he replaced Moss?
So next year he's going to be a Patriot?Jeff Pasquino said:3nOut said:Isn't this the second time he replaced Moss?![]()
$750k league vet minimum IIRCWhy not? I did not see the contract #'s but you have to figure he came cheaply with the off field issue. He obviously has shown some ability in the NFL but he is obviously not a top tier guy either. I think he is a very good #3 or #4 WR for most any team. If the Raider's get the other guys to play well then it is a good signing.... if they are stuck with him being a #1 or #2 (not that crazy to think about with all the questions, injuries, and busts on the Raider roster) then that is bad news but it would make this signing even more valuable. In short, it is not going to put the Raider's over the hump but it is not going to hurt them either.

And with the vet minimum rules, he would only count 435,000 against the cap.$750k league vet minimum IIRCWhy not?
