you started the thread, so you do it.who wants to take a crack at the top 24 for next year?
A little early to know some of this but the one that stands out to me is S. Smith; his injury is pretty severe. In the dynasty implications section in week 16 content, it is implied that Smith might not be with the Giants. I would also wait to see where Vick lands assuming he tries to hold Philly up and he prices himself out there.I will give it a crack. Nice cut thus far, given what we know. Personally, I think Stevie Johnson could creep up on that list (22-24 range). I know he has been the suck as of late, but he is still WR9 in PPR, and will probably finish that way. I was shocked to see how low Mendenhall is in PPR output this year (RB14), so he may be a little too high for my liking in the rankings...maybe even drop him out for a guy like Bowe.I will give it a crack. Switch Vick and McCoy. Also, I see a lot of receivers but no VJax. Assuming he gets franchised, which is the rumor, I'd put him above many receivers on this list.I will give it a crack. I don't play PPR, but if you look at what Gates did prior to getting hurt (his first real amount of missed time btw), one could argue he should go extremely high. For the first 8 weeks of the season, Gates had 40 catches for 663 and 9 TDs. He'd scored more fantasy points that any other pass catcher, and was only behind Foster, ADP, CJ, McFadden and Gore among non QBs. Not really sure that there is a safer play than him either among the WRs. IMO you are about 25 spots too low on him.Rd325) VJax26) Fitz 27) Wayne28) Garcon29) Bowe30) Steve Johnson31) Maclin32) Brees33) Brady34) Rivers35) Rodgers36) Austinrd437) Welker38) Boldin39) Harvin40) Rice41) gates42) Finley43) Best44) Witten45) Bryant46) Marshall47) F. He's a PPR stud. But, if he's not 100%, I agree. I was basing it on him being healthy and being with Eli.I'd be borderline shocked if Smith north when in the 2nd.
Nice list. I would add two other players in there somewhere. Peyton Manning and Jonthan Stewart. Manning has still put up decent numbers this year without a running game and numerous injuries to his receivers. Add somebody like DeAngelo Williams and get everybody healthy and he'll be fine. Stewart is much better than Goodson and Williams will be gone so he'll get the bulk of the work in Carolina. New coaching staff and a team that can't be any worse than they are now will help as well.Others worth considering: Green-Ellis, M.Wallace, R.Mathews, D.Clark, D.Williams, D.Avery. Was an oversight when I realized that some players stats will reflect much higher than their actual value (Hillis/Charles) and I forgot to readd Mccoy after bumping him for Hillis, I would put him (Mccoy) the spot behind gore and bump everyone down 1.I can only hope McCoy falls to round 4Standard scoring 12 team mock1. 4 games a good season does not make. But more importantly there are easily 36 players that should go ahead of Stewart potentially even more if Carolina resigns D. Will (not saying they will or should)If it's standard scoring, how the hell does Stewart not go in the 3rd round? I just don't see DWill in Carolina next season and Stewart has once again shown the past month how good he is
I'm hoping other owners think that way as well. When Williams missed the last two games in 2009, Stewart averaged over 150 yards rushing and a touchdown. Stewart is already one of the guys I'll be targeting next year in the 3rd or 4th round along with Jahvid Best. Look at what Best did before his toe injury this year. If he's 100% healthy in 2011 he's a great value pick.4 games a good season does not make. I agree thats while unless a 2nd round slips into the third I will probably be taking him or Gates in the third.Utter Chaos said:I'm hoping other owners think that way as well. I love most of your list, but one Q: why is forte ranked so highly? I just ask because I get to keep 6 this year on my team at no cost, and I think that Forte may be the odd man out (also PPR). Vick, Calvin, Fitzgeral, Deangelo Williams, Jahvid Best, Crabtree are all in front of him in my eyes. Forte and Blount are the other two i'm thinking about. It just surprised me that you have Forte so high.I will give it a crack. Hes the #1 QB for sure next year. But the decision is, jump at the #1 QB for the +6/7 pts avg a game and lose your first round RB which is detrimental.Vick first round = +6/7 avg ptsNo top 10 RB = - more than 6/7 avg ptsYou guys are underrating Vick a lot. He is the unanimous #1 to me. ADP and CJ may be parts of disasters next year. Vick wants to be an Eagle. The Eagles FO is the unknown. Give the guy a year to get into the offense and the o-line to get better and he is a touchdown machine. A QB who can get as many rushing tds as anybody and can throw 20-25?
On a board full of crummy nicknames for players, this one is actually good.Smith north

Why would you lose that on your 1st round RB? You telling me Foster, McCoy, Hillis, McFadden are all sure things? They look like it now but sure didn't in August.Hes the #1 QB for sure next year. On the other hand he could produce less because defenses will have a whole offseason to figure out how to stop him.My basic point is that he should produce more making that average inaccurate.
I know this will sound idiotic but if Vick keeps up his work off the field and the eagles get a few new pieces I simply dont see how he can be "stopped". Sure that sounds quite hyperbolic but remember vick will get better too if he stays with the eagles and spends a full offseason as the clear #1. Barring injury, with how hes matured and the weapons around him, both other players and offensive scheme, again I simply dont see how he can be stopped. Never said that before.ETA: I'd take a long look at sidney rice in the 4th depending on what shakes out with the qb situation there. On the other hand he could produce less because defenses will have a whole offseason to figure out how to stop him.My basic point is that he should produce more making that average inaccurate.
I think he creeps into end1/start2 if they shore up the passing game in the offseason. I would take him at 2/1 depending on the scoring (all tds 6 pts).Standard scoring 12 team mock
