The Tampa/Green Bay rivalry was awesome a few years back.they went from playing the raiders & broncos & chargers to the cards rams and niners.New rivals were made I guess.Same with Tampa, I thought TB had nice rivals in Det,Chi & GB
back when both were decent. Seems so long agoThe Tampa/Green Bay rivalry was awesome a few years back.they went from playing the raiders & broncos & chargers to the cards rams and niners.New rivals were made I guess.Same with Tampa, I thought TB had nice rivals in Det,Chi & GB
dont bother me.something had to be done for re-alignment. But it seems that Dallas was given privledge. They should be in the NFC west.Amazing what bothers some people.......What division would you have them in?
dallas v. NYG and philly v. NYG are both probably more prominent than either of these. There are like four top rivalries in the NFL and Dallas y Washington and Dallas y Philly are two of them.....
In NY?dallas v. NYG and philly v. NYG are both probably more prominent than either of these. There are like four top rivalries in the NFL and Dallas y Washington and Dallas y Philly are two of them.....
Except where the reallignment would have coflicted with the pocketbooks of the owners or what the TV execs wanted for their Sunday audience... Neither Seattle or TB had the ownership or the TV ratings to make any demands on the NFL when it came to reallignment. Dallas had both...Ever since reallignment, I've wondered why Dallas is in the NFC East.I know they were originally there, but I thought that when the NFL reallgined the divisions, there were looking to allign them geographically correct.
I don't think anyone had to demand anything to keep Dallas in the East. I doubt anyone in a position that matters in the NFL seriously suggested Dallas be in another division. It simply wasn't considered.Except where the reallignment would have coflicted with the pocketbooks of the owners or what the TV execs wanted for their Sunday audience... Seattle and Tampa were the two "newest" teams in their respective divisions. The AFC West was kept the same sans Seattle and the NFC Central was renamed NFC North and kept the same sans Tampa. The Tampa/Green Bay rivalry was awesome a few years back.they went from playing the raiders & broncos & chargers to the cards rams and niners.New rivals were made I guess.Same with Tampa, I thought TB had nice rivals in Det,Chi & GB
If anything they would go in the South not the West. That would be more geographically correct. But re-alignment was done trying to keep rivalries intact.dont bother me.something had to be done for re-alignment. But it seems that Dallas was given privledge. They should be in the NFC west.Amazing what bothers some people.......What division would you have them in?

they wear striped shirts ...............
Both. You had Arizona and Dallas in the original NFC East. Gee, which team did it make more sense to move?
Looks like in 1960 they were in the West then moved to the East in 1961.There was a deal cut - and I don't recall the details right now - back when the NFL was formed that ensured that Dallas would be in the NFC East so as to ensure its relevance and connection to the biggest media markets in the country. That's basically what it comes down to.
They've always seemed like a glorified expansion team to me so . . .![]()

Hey, even though the Giants and Eagles have a rivalry, the Cowboys are the most disliked team from every Giant fan I know. The rivalry is everywhere. People in Texas hate NY's anywaytheir rivalries with Washington and Philly can't be denied....I can't imagine NFL moving them....
I'm a Giants fan and those rivalries are huge for Giants fans (and probably Dallas fans - for sure Philly fans) but Washington/Dallas is probably the biggest rivalry in football.dallas v. NYG and philly v. NYG are both probably more prominent than either of these. There are like four top rivalries in the NFL and Dallas y Washington and Dallas y Philly are two of them.....
