If there were ever an argument to change the playoff seeding to a NBA style affair this game is it. Carolina shouldn't even be in the playoffs. And i just feel downright bad for the Cardinals now, they had a legit shot at a deep playoff run if they were out here with Ellington and Palmer right now.
Carolina won their Division, of course they should be in the playoffs.
Assuming this is sarcasm... but yeah it's sad. That said, the NFC this season is just in shambles outside of the top teams. Even if you just picked the Top 6 teams you'd still have had almost the exact same playoff teams, the seedings would've changed though. Carolina would've been replaced by the Eagles. And the seeding would've been Seattle, GB, Dallas, Arizona, Detroit, Philly. Which probably would've been more interesting as the games this weekend would've been Dallas vs Philly and Arizona vs Detroit. So Detroit and Dallas probably would've moved onto the next round. Sadly though, Philly has sucked recently too. I doubt they'd put up that much better of a showing than Carolina has tonight. The difference would be we would've had two jokes of a game instead of just getting the jokes out of the way today.

Though Aaron Rodgers might not look forward to playing this d line.
True...playing well.

Though, Packers OL, plus Rodgers smarts and the Packers weapons and ability to run the ball better than AZ with Stefan Taylor may help quite a bit.

Sure...if Detroit wins...would be nicer to play against the crap that is the AZ offense.

GB would be highly favored over either of these teams.

:lmao: at Mr Pack not caring who wins this.
Why would I care?

Neither team will beat Green Bay at Lambeau if Detroit pulls the upset.

:blackdot:
You should put the crack pipe down.

You're saying I'd rather have Dallas come to Green Bay than one of these teams?

You are insane, or wasted. I'll say both
Where is that (Dallas) even implied?
Dude
Again... Where did I say anything about the Packers playing Dallas, let alone preferring the matchup?

It's a simple as if Detroit wins, the Packers play the winner of this game.

For you to suggest that you don't care is either comical over confidence or a blatant display of ignorance about what scenarios dictate the Packers matchup next week

I'll let you pick which one it is.
All these years of watching Bears football has made you delusional.
Care to point out where I mention Dallas or do you just want to look stupider with each post?

What are you two arguing about? Of course he cares who wins in Dallas. But this game? I get his point even if I disagree.
The :blackdot: was put there on the off chance that GB does get matched up with Carolina it's findable.

How this spiraled into me comparing the potential matchup vs one with Dallas is mind boggling

Not sarcasm at all. If you win your Division, no matter how bad it is, you should be rewarded with a playoff slot. Now a Home Game? No, not with that bad of a record. But a team should definitely be rewarded with a playoff game if it win's its division.

ETA: Watching this stinkbomb of game, definitely gives your opinion a lot of merit.

77 total yds. Fewest ever.

Comical and sad. This Cards team could have been a force if they stayed healthy.

Nice season Arz. Better luck next year.

Carolina D could have had a shutout there if not for the 2 gift setups off turnovers. Makes you frustrated if ur playing fantasy playoffs with Carolina DF they could have also picked up the ball at end and maybe scored!

Feel bad for Arizona fans this year.

Started off in the running for best in the league, ended with trash.

But, they do have a SB appearance so can't feel too bad.

Yeah, it's not fair to judge the Cards off of this game. They were so much better this year than this.

I actually missed this game and I'm a Panthers fan. Can someone tell me how Stewart looked? Clearly Cam was awful, but Stewart looks like he had solid numbers...

Stewart looked pretty solid.

His YPC dipped a bit late in game while Panthers were trying to run clock down.

Stewart looked good as did the whole Car running game. He ran decisive and with authority.

Enjoy your next career Lindley.

Hope you got your degree Logan. How awful do you have to be in 1 practice for a coach to think "Ryan Lindley gives us the best chance to win"?

Question about the play when Cam got hit as he threw and there was question about it being a forward pass...

Whether the ball went forward or backwards or not, I don't really care. BUT is that a new rule that if a defender hits a QB and his INTENT was to attempt a forward pass, it's incomplete even if the ball goes backwards?? I have honestly never heard or seen anything like it. A completely ridiculous rule even by current NFL standards.

It's been in the rules for years:

When a Team A player is holding the ball to pass it forward, any intentional movement forward of his hand starts a forward pass. If a Team B player contacts the passer or the ball after forward movement begins, and the ball leaves the passer’s hand, a forward pass is ruled, regardless of where the ball strikes the ground or a player.

Have you ever seen it before?

I guess it's the NFL's goal to be needlessly complicated in favor of more offense. What good reason is there to not call a pass that travels backward a lateral?

It's pretty much the same thing they are looking for on "empty hand" passes to determine incomplete pass or fumble on sack attempts no?

The contender that wasn't meant to be. Alas.

Came into the season in a hole with all kinds of crucial injuries and suspensions on what was supposed to be a league-leading type of defense...overcame that, only to lose their running game and QB after an excellent start. Would be set up for a future title run, except the Palmer injury, plus the too-good record means no QB worth a damn is on the horizon.

I'm afraid this team's window is closing before it got a chance to open. :(
