Specify Day and Time - You have the option to select the day and time you want the deadline to be. For example, you can select Saturday at 9pm EST. It is totally up to you as the league's manager. If the first game of the week falls prior to your specified deadline, the five minutes before day's first games lock will take priority. Please Note - All selections by pool members will be displayed in the "View All" picks section once your specified lock occurs unless the first game of the week falls prior to your specified deadline. In that case, selections for that game(s) will be displayed once they lock.

I have Sunday at 1PM in there for now, let me know what it should be set to.

Also, food for thought, we want to possibly make it for 12PM for potential tailing purposes?

I'm fine with doing it on Sunday, either 1p or noon is fine with me.

I am thinking of joining. Supercontest deadline is like 10 am pst on Saturday if you aren't picking the Thursday game and kickoff of Thursday game if you are picking it.

If you don't mirror those deadlines doesn't give you a fair example of where you would be in the actual contest because you could then 'cheat' and see the top contest picks.

i like the idea of making in noon for tailing purposes, but whatever the groupthink here is good by me. I imagine we will have an idea of what others are thinking during the week. I hope that this contest does not lead to guys not giving opinions etc during the week over this contest. I can see playing it close to the vest the last couple of weeks if you are in the hunt but other than that...

Is there a way to "lock" your picks, at which point you could see the selections of others, who have also locked?

That could enable us to tail one another without losing competitive advantage

Yep, everyone's picks are viewable on the CBS site after the defined lock time for the league, so that's why I threw that out there as a question for you guys.

It's customizable by the hour, so let me know what works and I'll set it up.

What time do they have to be in if we like the Thursday night game? Just anytime before kickoff?

I misunderstood the "tailing" comment. Thought you meant that people in the lead would be able to hedge their picks late in the season to ensure victory. But yeah, if all picks are locked at the same time, noon is fine.

I'm Ok with going away from that if it makes sense. Picking 5 NFL games ATS is the most important part, IMO.

CBS is the source of the spreads, who their source is I'm not sure as it doesn't explicitly state it anywhere.

If it gets to be a problem/we want to use only the LVH lines, I can enter them manually, just need to know if we're going that route and if we're keeping with opening line or what (I didn't see line moves mentioned on the site, so I assume they don't fluctuate since you can make your picks at any time).

my guess is the lines up now will be the lines until kickoff. So the advantage there is we can all go in and change a pick if something crazy comes up like Brady sits last minute or something. but this seems to work fine and is good for now. 1st week is a crapshoot anyway, so let's see how they look i guess
