NFL cuts - quick thoughts (1 Viewer)

Most of the more recognizable/notable names - most know about Rudi by now and not exactly a lot of big names here, but anyway:

QB Harrington

QB Gutierrez (? I thought he was looking better than Cassell)

QB Bollinger

QB Lorenzen, Gray (Colts cut both, keeping the weaker Sorgi - brilliant)

QB Bouman

RB Rudi J.

RB Fason

RB Morency

RB Herron

RB Wynn

RB Moats

RB A Pinner

RB K Keith

WR Ryd Williams (?)

WR Lelie

TE Pollard

OL W Anderson

OL D Raiola

S Adam Archeluta

CB D O'Neal

CB F Bryant

DT Triplett

DE McDougle

K Feely

RB - Rudi

OL - Anderson

QB - Simms

I see those for sure being on a team by week number 2 of regular season.

RB - Morency

WR - Lelie

TE - Pollard

These will most likely find homes somewhere too.

Week two is a good point. Any vested vet on the opening day roster has their salary guaranteed for the season if they get injured.

Disagree on the last 2. Lelie has been a huge bust and Pollard is too old to contribute much even as a backup anymore, I think.

DeShawn Wynn is a lesser name, but I'm still surprised he didn't make the cut given that he played pretty well in his limited opportunity last year. I suspect he won't be a FA all year.

Is Willie Anderson done? Or was it more a case of his performance being way out of line with his salary? If he's got something left in the tank, I would hope the Bears would give him a look.

Surprised by the GB cuts -

Wynn, Morency, AND Noah Herron - AKA Slugger - also released was Corey White.

Does this leave ONLY Ryan Grant who held out most of camp and Brandon Jackson?

Kregg Lumpkin made the team over all these guys.

Ill say this - if this doesnt give you an inclination into the packers game plan - - - Throw Throw Throw - - - - then I dont know what else would. Short Yardage they will run alot of 3Rb sets with the 2 Fullbacks, but otherwise they are going to spread it out and work out of the shotgun just like last year.

Its an exciting time to own Aaron Rodgers.

I don't know why people are making such a bid deal out of the Packer RB cuts. Morency hasn't done anything in his time in Green Bay; period. Herron's a nice story, but the guy is an extremely limited player. Very little speed. Wynn is awful. Talented for sure, but can't stay healthy and has no desire to play. Lumpkin outperformed all of them, and by all accounts is a pretty good receiver and runs with some conviction.I don't think this means anything different for Green Bay. Same game plan as last year.

Lumpy has outplayed those guys ever step of the way.while he was going against scrubs (though, most of those guys were too)...Lumpy worked hard and I liked how he ran.Always kept his legs moving...made decisive cuts rather than dancing behind the line.

I can see Cincy maybe taking a look at Chad.

W. Anderson might be able to contribute in New England with Neal out.
