NFL draft 1st round trades (1 Viewer)

There's some squable on a Cowboy's board about them moving up to maybe #8.  It would probably require next year's #1 to make it happen.  I doubt it would happen.  But if it does, and Vernon Davis is on the board, I'd hate to be a defense trying to stop TO/Glenn/Witten/Davis/JJ.
Two problems with this.....#1 - TO will be pissed enough as it is by having other viable recieving options in the lineup. If TO ain't happy, goodbye locker room.

#2 - You'd have to acquire a QB that can actually play the position.
Are you guys really this stupid? Bledsoe was the #3 rated QB in the LEAGUE last season before Flozell went down. Bledsoe still finished in the top ten in every major QB category last season with a horrible line, very little rushing attack and no T.O. I understand that most of you hate the Cowboys but don't let your hate blind pure logic, it just makes you look foolish.

Trying to steer this back on topic. :banned:

Anyway I sort of see Dallas bailing out of the first round to get extra OL help. In fact, I see Dallas spending most of the day trading down and stockpiling enough OL picks that one of them HAS to pan out. The remaining needs just aren't worthy of high draft picks IMO.
Yep :goodposting:

For the last 5 years, Bledsoe has started strong in the first half only to tank the second. His average numbers are skewed.

Look at the teams he was playing on. Buffalo sucks. I think that was proven last season without Bledsoe. Dallas lost a critical piece of its line which changed their entire offense. I don't think Bledsoe should get the blame for the Cowboys losses. If the Cowboys had a decent kicker, not even a great kicker but a decent kicker we would have ended the season with 12 wins. None of that was Bledsoe's fault, he had the team in the position to win three times and had the kicker cost him the win. No one wants to give Bledsoe or especially the Cowboys, any credit.

For the record, I really like Bledsoe the player.Had he played behind Troy Aikman's offensive line, he'd be a Hall of Fame player. As it is his numbers are close. Problem is that unless he has that line, he wears down as the season progresses.

Going off on another tangent.....Andy, I'd like to posit another potential explanation for Bledsoe's second half decline.

We all know what happened to Dallas' Oline last year. There were many instances late last year when he could not even complete a 3-step drop before he had a defender on him. I'd be hard pressed to name any QB who would be successful under those conditions.

But what about his years in Buffalo? Their Oline was never good, but he still produced in the first half with the same group.....

It might be worth considering what happens in Buffalo starting in about November. It gets ##### cold with a nasty north wind. That wind has been nicknamed, "The Hawk" because it just bites right into you and tears you to shreads. It is a lot harder to throw and catch when its nasty cold and there is a strong wind. Its no where near like playing in a dome or the sunny south.

So I'm offering an alternative explanation to Bledsoe's decline. I'm not saying its the sole cause. But I have a hard time disregarding these issues.

That's plausible.Look, I'd really, REALLY like for Bledsoe to succeed. Like I said, I think he's a fine quarterback that's played for some lousy teams. Add the fact that circumstances bit him in the ### in New England, and I think this guy deserves a shot at glory.

He just won't be on any fantasy team that I own ever again.

Broncos trade their 2 first round picks to move up and get Leinart. Skeletor has been secretly craving him and was hoping that Washington would be bad enough this year that their pick would land him. Instead they trade up, and one of the rebuilding teams is happy to get two first round picks.

What about van Pelt? That guy really has some potential. I think if the Broncos trade up it will be to get Bush. I know the Broncos don't generally go after big named RB but this guy could put up Clinton Portis numbers in that system and this is the year for the Broncos to win. The Pats wont be as good, the Colts lost Edge and no one else is close.

No chance. (#15 + #22) <> #2

OK...I'll play too.

I see the Cowboys trying to trade down or totally out of the first round.

Whether it gets done or not is another story.

Maybe Indy trading up to gets a RB??? (Total random speculation on my part)

Eli Manning = Philip Rivers (4th pick) + 3rd Round pick + future first round pick + future fifth round pick.& the Browns traded a second round pick to move up one spot when they drafted Kellen Winslow Jr.

Those trades were both more unbalanced than a 15 + 22.

Anyways, I wouldn't do it myself but I wanted to put it into a thread so that once it happens I can bump this thread.

You'll get one of these  from me if it goes down that way.

:X Risky business.

Trade probability of MEDIUM for the #2 (NOS), #4 (NYJ), #9 (DET) and the #10 (ARI).

Trade Probability of HIGH for the #5 (GBP) and the #6 (SFF).

Trade probability LOW for the remainder of the top ten.

Based on that, there are a lot of teams that would love to acquire the #5 or #6 pick, if for no other reason than just to pis*off Al Davis.

DEN would love to snatch Mario Williams at the #5 and DE is DEN's second area of need. GBP would love to re-build with the #15 and the #22 pick, Farve returns and they bye another year by showing good faith.

Win-Win.

Works for me......but it's just a speculation on the nature of relativity at this point.
