NFL Network: Michael Bennett to start for Bucs today (1 Viewer)

gbill2004

Footballguy
Bucs declared RB Warrick Dunn, QB Brian Griese, DB Dexter Jackson, DB Jermaine Phillips, FB B.J. Askew, OG Aaron Sears, WR Maurice Stovall and QB Josh Johnson inactive for Week 9 against the Chiefs.

Dunn's absence seemingly gives Earnest Graham a big value boost, but Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that Michael Bennett will not only steal significant snaps from Graham, but actually start against the Chiefs. Graham remains the better option, but his upside takes a big hit if Bennett indeed gets the out-of-nowhere starting nod. Nov. 2 - 12:00 pm et

WTF? Oh, man...I don't like these news...I have Graham in my lineup but could very easily bring in Bowe instead of him...(as a flex)....

With this news should I go with Chris Johnson over Graham or stick with Graham hoping that Bennett doesn't steal many carries. Sorry this post doesn't belong in this forum.

Reports indicate that Michael Bennet gets the start with Dunn out. Obviously Graham gets some carries as he has; will Bennet get the same ratio and same role as Dunn? Is he startable this week?

I'm contemplating starting Bennet over Addai, can't take a zero and I think KC gives up the most to RB's.

Due to byes/injuries........now starting BOTH Graham and Bennett (just grabbed off waivers). The Chiefs run defense is one of the worst in the league, so this may actually work out.

Bennett reminiscing about KC days......

Bennett spent a year-and-a-half with the Chiefs before being sent to Tampa Bay at the trade deadline in October 2007. He is eager to show his old team, and his new team, what he can do.

"This is the kind of game you want to go back and play," Bennett said. "It's one of those things where, 'This is where I am now, and this is where you are now.' "

Bennett started his career and played five seasons in Minnesota, but he said the time he spent in Kansas City was special.

"When they came out and did the national anthem, that was the biggest charge I ever got as a player," Bennett said. "When they said 'The home of the Chiefs' it sends an electric charge through your body.

"I was telling some of the guys about that. If it's a sold-out game, watch how much electricity that brings to players and the team going out. It was a great overall experience."

Got Ward or Edge to pick from otherwise ...gonna roll the Bennett gamble based on this news.
Edge vs StL isnt too bad either
Hightower starting over Edge today.I'm benching Edge, and bringing in Bennett. My only question is whether Bennett ultimately only gets about 10 carries against KC with the bulk of Dunn's carries going to Graham. This Bennett thing may be a big headfake by Gruden.

I did not realize Hightower was starting. No I have to decide between Bennett or Torain (and bench Edge)

The bulk of carries will go to Graham. Comes down to how much you think Bennett can do with the carries he does get. I see 10-12 carries for 50-55, 3 catches for 18-20, and maybe a 30% chance for a TD.For me, that makes him a better start than, say, Ricky Williams or Maurice Morris in the rain.
