I am pretty sure NFL network was reporting as a fifth round pick in 2009. I don't know why the Vikings would give anything for him. He likely would have been cut by the Eagles.

I don't recall him starting, but he did suffer an injury (not serious), but if was enough to keep him behind Leach (starter), Cook and Abatte(sp). ... I also think that Gado and Lundy have done enough where his ability to swing to TB did not give him an advantage over those guys either.

TodayThe Green Bay Packers QB Ingle MartinCincinnati Bengals 8/24 Bobby Blizzard (TE) cut.
Watching Martin at the combine I thought he was going to be really good, and that he might pass Rodgers on the depth chart. :goodposting:
You and me both.
me 3...u have to wonder what happens to these guys...or is the organization misjudging his talent?...i'm sure others can atest to how good this guy looked coming out...u don't have to be a pro scout to see it...u just have to know fooball...anyway, i'm intrigued by the dynamics of player personnel & if i had to do it over, i would've somehow persued a career in pro football (coaching or front office)...but wouldn't we all, LOL
He was a 6th round pick why is everyone shocked?
Brady Brady Brady

Is Jared Zabransky (Boise State hero QB) still on the team? I don't recall seeing stats from him from preseason. You'd think with Houston's lack of experience at QB, they'd at least give this kid a shot. He's got to be more talented and NFL ready than Sage Rosenfels (and that's coming from a Jew that's thrilled there's a few random Jewish players that still have NFL jobs!)
Are you sure he's a Jew? Many thought Bernie Kosar was a Jew but it turned out that he was an Arab.Btw-Sage has some game. Not sure how you are measuring "talent" but Sage has proven he can play in the NFL. With or without the talent, he's got enough game to stick around and be the backup.

So if i understand right, in the next 3 hours all cuts have to be made. Any word out of Carolina if Shelton is gone?

The Chiefs cut Casey Printers, this leaves them with only 2 QBS. Forgive my ignorance but how many QBs are typically on an NFL roster? I think it's 3 at a minimum, if i remember? I would have to think that if it is 3 and the Chiefs only have 2, and not even a good 2, maybe Leftwich or someone else is headed to KC soon?

Rams RB J.D.Washington must be sick of hearing the word *cut*...most of his life he heard it at his fathers job in Hollywood...cut/action Denzel Washington (father). :bye:

Not that unusual for a team to go with 2 QBs. Steelers have done it.

But is it unusual for a team with 2 bad QBS and a bad O-line to do it?

Eagles cuts (just posted to their web site):

September 1, 2007 | Last Updated: 9/1/07 4:24 PM ET | Comments (0)

By: CHRIS McPHERSON

Wide receiver Jeremy Bloom and punter Dirk Johnson were among the 22 cuts the Philadelphia Eagles made on Saturday to get to the league-mandated roster limit of 53.

Here are the other 21 players released: cornerback Rashad Barksdale, fullback Jeremy Cain, wide receiver Zac Collie, linebacker Tank Daniels, fullback Jason Davis, cornerback Dustin Fox, safety C.J. Gaddis, wide receiver Michael Gasperson, safety Erick Harris, center Jasper Harvey, guard Jacob Hobbs, defensive tackle Mauricio Lopez, running back Nate Ilaoa, defensive end Marques Murrell, wide receiver J.J. Outlaw, tackle Jonathan Palmer, linebacker Dedrick Roper, defensive tackle Jeremy Clark, wide receiver Bill Sampy and tight end Lee Vickers.

The 49ers made the following roster moves to get to the 53-man limit:

"It was a tougher decision this year than it has been the last two years," coach Mike Nolan said.

Cut -- RB Thomas Clayton, WR Bryan Gilmore, OL Harvey Dahl, OL Damane Duckett, OL Tavares Washington, TE Zac Herold, TE Zachary Hilton, DE Sam Rayburn, S Darnell Bing, LB Colby Bockwoldt, S Vickiel Vaughn, RB Zak Keasey, LB Mark Washington.

On Friday, the 49ers waived QB Luke Getsy, RB Arkee Whitlock, OL Sean Estrada, CB Markus Curry, DE Zach Anderson, DE Darius Sanders, S Jake Patten.

Steeler Cuts

Chukky Okobi, who came to training camp as the starting center, and running back Verron Haynes were among the players cut today by Coach Mike Tomlin as the Steelers reduced their roster to the final 53-player limit, the Post-Gazette has learned.

Also included in the cut were three rookie draft choices - defensive end Ryan McBean, a fourth-round pick; guard Cameron Stephenson (fifth) and wide receiver Dallas Baker (seventh).

Defensive end Shaun Nua, a seventh-round choice in 2005, and former special teams co-captain Chidi Iwuoma were also cut.

Haynes, a fifth-round draft choice in 2002, has been the team's third-down back for most of his career. But three of his previous five seasons have ended early because of knee injuries, including last season when he missed the final nine games.

Also cut were fullback John Kuhn, quarterback Bryan Randall, receivers Walter Young and Gerran Walker; tight ends Cody Boyd and Jon Dekker, tackles Jason Capizzi and Brandon Torrey; nose tackle Scott Paxson, linebackers Ron Stanley and Marquis Cooper; cornerbacks Anthony Madison and Jovon Johnson; and safeties Grant Mason and Mike Lorello.

Capizzi is the only surprise. I guess they're hoping he makes it through waivers and resigns to the practice squad. Kuhn and Young hopefully make it too.
