I think its been a few years now since they started scheduling these semi-final weekend games in advance, and I think the games this weekend show what a disservice that does to the players, in favor presumably of the networks. Both Sunday winners - the Ravens and Packers - have to play on a short week (Saturday games) while the two winners from Saturday's games have an extra day to rest and prepare before their games on Sunday.

Not to mention their fans have to hear the broadcast teams of Gumbel/Dierdorf and Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa. Not fair!

another way to do the schedule ahead of time is give the bye #1 seeds the sat games . this does not help the wildcard sat teams . but it gives the #1 seeds an extra day if they win for the conf title games . seems like as the #1 seed, it would give them an earned extra day if they advance to next sunday .

The only trouble is that those are also going to be your best TV viewing games as well. That's what the prime time Saturday and late Sunday games are. You have to split up the best games to both days to maximize viewers.
