don't forget, starting at 1pm and I assume through the end of 4pm games, NFL RedZone will be available to everyone with the right cable company. You don't have to sign up or anything. If I CAN'T change the channel back to CBS/FOX, then I'll pay up the $50 for the rest of the season.

Certainly an effective marketing ploy by NFL Network.... but why didn't they do this last week?

 thanks man!! will be checking it out for sure

I have Cox Cable in Orange County, CA. I was able to get a $20($40 regular price) discount on redzone while complaining and chaninging my cable plan.

You're going to like it. So get your wallet ready. It changes how you watch football on Sunday.

Huh? I had it last year and have it this year. Only costs $5 per month. Sunday Ticket is nice if you have a favorite team but RedZone is mainly for fantasy purposes. Luv it and it is basically the only channel I watch on Sunday's.

true.. it depends on if you're a "real" football fan.. if so you won't like it.. it's a collection of highlights and quick clips.if you're more of a fantasy fan first, and nfl fan second (which I am now) then you'll love it.no commercials... takes all the bad parts of football away.. punts, timeouts, commercials (there's none), ref rulings, extra points, etc.

also red zone is WAY better when there are like 8 or 9 games during the early slot, it's not as great when there's only 3 games in the afternoon.

during the early games, it reminds me of the awesome coverage during the first round of the NCAA men's basketball tourney.. going all over the place to whatever is the most interesting right now.. except better with no commercials.

I think you're confusing NFL Sunday Ticket and their Redzone channel with NFL Network and NFL RedZone. If you buy the sunday ticket, if i understand correctly, you get the Redzone channel with it.OTOH, NFL Network is free on certain cable networks with certain packages. NFL RedZone channel, however, is not free. If you want it for the season it costs $20-50, depending.

This is what I'm REALLY looking forward too. watching football can be SO aggravating when, for example, Team A scores, they go to commercial after the PAT, come back for the kickoff, then go to commercial AGAIN, and come back for Team B's drive.not only that, but there's about 7 or 8 commercials you will see over and over again. even the subjects are limited to mostly beer and trucks.

Good idea of theirs to give the crack away for free today. Split screen with Vikes and NFL RedZone = FUN!

Microsoft Essentials keeps popping up saying I need to clean my computer after clicking on that link for the RZ Channel.

Tampa Bay / Pinellas County Knology Customers: Does not launch on their system until the 30th according to the sales rep I just spoke with...

Pretty interesting -- I like it. It's a little ADD switching between game and plays. I'm old school and may still prefer getting in the feel and rhythm of a single so-so game than bouncing around between them. Example is seeing Green Bay all of the sudden back in the redd zone -- you lose how the 3-and-out happened for Buffalo.

But this format is unbelievable for fantasy-purposes. Really like seeing the big plays and scoring chances, even if you lose the context in how these scoring opportunities were created.

They probably didn't do it last week because Direct TV was giving fans a free trial week of NFL Sunday Ticket.

This station may be the greatest thing to ever happen in my life... :towelwave:

The only thing better would be the redzone equivalent of a porn channel with 24/7 coverage of all the best in pr0n scenes.like you turn it on, are guaranteed a good scene, watch your "highlights", finish, and move on.

 Commentary provided by RedZone is not that insightful or interesting. I can see this would be tedious with 3 afternoon games, but it really has been fun to watch for the early games so far.

I really like the way you think. You should make this happen. :lmao: BTW: When we got Redzone on Comcast last year, it just changed Sundays in the Jester household. I would gladly pay more for it.
