NFL Schedule #####ing thread (1 Viewer)

Just looking over the NFL schedule and seeing how it impacts my teams.

I came to week 6:

Open date: Buffalo, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, San Francisco

My WRs, in a league where we start 4:

Edwards, Braylon CLE WR

Evans, Lee BUF WR

Jones, Matt JAC WR

Randle El, Antwaan WAS WR

Smith, Brad NYJ WR

Walker, Javon DEN WR

Ward, Hines PIT WR

Williams, Roy DET WR

:hot:

Can you beat that? (as far as being screwed in one week)

According to ESPN the Lions have the toughest schedule in the NFC.

why the heck not !!

• The AFC is better than the NFC: Certainly that's not a very big surprise, but it's even more apparent when you look at the strength of schedules for 2007. Every team in the AFC has a strength of schedule of over .500. The Lions (.504) are the only NFC team with a strength of schedule of over .500.

• Kicking the Raiders while they're down: The Raiders finished with the NFL's worst record and were rewarded with the hardest schedule in 2007. The Raiders don't get any breaks in the AFC West, with all six of their divisional games coming against teams with better than .500 records.

• It pays to be in the NFC North: One year after having the NFL's easiest schedule, the Bears check in with the second-easiest schedule (.465) this season. Chicago's three divisional foes were a combined 17-31 (.354) in 2006.

They're not really being kicked. It's the consequence of being the weakest team in the league's strongest division. The Chargers used to own this "distinction" year after year.

Seems a bit inconsistent. Until you realize that it pays to be the good team in the NFC North. Same as it hurts to be the worst in a good division.

3rd year straight the Raiders play the 2 Supr Bowl teams. At least this year we play them at our house. We need only to figure out which two divisions (outside of the AFC West) the Raiders schedule is set to be played against in 2008 and take the top team of each division, and voila, there you have the 2007 seasons Super Bowl teams.

So you just need the Chargers, Chiefs, or Broncos to go to the Superbowl so you can play superbowl teams 3 times in 2008. :confused:ETA: The AFC west should play the NFC south in 2008. Good news for Saints fans in 07??? If BlackHole's theory is right because I don't think it'll be the Panthers, Falcons, or Bucs this year.

Looks like a pretty easy schedule for the Eagles. I'd say around 11-5 or 10-6 if McNafro stays healthy.

Not really anything to do with fantasy, but putting Saints vs Bears as the last game of the season instead of a mid season sunday night or monday night game? BOOOO that

I agree. Here's to hoping that the game means something to both teams. Otherwise it's a waste of a good matchup.

I'll be in Reno in two weeks. I will be putting a fun little $20-$50 bet on the Saints going to the superbowl.

Go for it! I'll go in halfsies with you. Just double check that our division actually does play the NFC south in 08. If I remember the last 3 years correctly. We play the north this season, the west last year, and the east in '05, so it should be the south in '08.ETA: I can't believe as a Broncos fan that I just offered to go in halfsies with a Raider fan LOL!

Yeah, it's going to be a tougher schedule when you don't get to play the Raiders.

 The Raiders won't be playing the Raiders. His point was that if they were, their schedule would be much easier. Detroit didn't have anything to do with those two posts you quoted.

Obviously I thought you were commenting that Detroit did not play the Raiders. As in a comparative analysis of Detroit's having played the Raiders the previous season.
