I just drafted out of the 1.08, 2.08, 3.08 slots in a 12 team 1qb league and I have to say I hated the value I got at each of those slots. I felt like I was starting a new tier each time I was on the clock. I took drafting a QB out of the equation for myself and it looks like a lot of the other owners did as well.
Drafting at 1.11/2.11/3.11 next weekend and feel slightly better about the value I'll get with those picks.
In hindsight I wish I traded up a couple slots or back some and got a pick or two next year. I'm happy with the players I got but feel underwhelmed with the draft return this year.

Marvin Mims at 2.08. Love the talent and don't hate the situation either. I am higher on Mims than most. Jayden Reed was also an option here, but I went with the younger more explosive guy who is probably in a more stable environment (hopefully).
3.08 Kayshon Boutte. I went high risk/reward guy there. I figure he is either going to show he can play in the NFL or be out of the league quick. I either get a player or a roster slot back.

From the late picks it’s important to zig when they zag.
I’ve historically had very good (re)drafts from those spots, but I get what you’re saying. Especially on the long turn with so many picks between. Picking 1.01 in a 16 team startup & waiting 32 picks is just brutal.

I was actually raging about Tillman in my one QB. I’m in two different leagues with a close pal of mine and somehow got confused between the two leagues and where he and I were picking and revealed to him I loved Tillman. I’m convinced that is why he wasn’t still there for me at 3.03

Better traits? Perhaps some and it goes both ways. My concern with QJ is he doesn't play up to his size like he should. He doesn't win contested catches when he should. I also worry about his separation issues. He's great after the catch however.

In some rookie drafts, he's a bit of a discount, IMO. Not mine, thus far, unfortunately.

I guess I'm not seeing the reason for it. 12th WR taken in the draft, undersized, project QB, on an offense that wont support multiple start-able fantasy WRs.
End of rd 2, sure... I can't see why he should go in the top 15 picks though.

Notes: Though I need WR, could not pass on Gibbs. Already getting interest around the league. I traded round 2 for Stafford last year but team fizzled badly. I would make that trade even now. I have Akers so Z Evans will sit on the taxi squad unless needed. Gray is the classic “pick a backup RB” and Higgins is an upside dart throw - Waldman is pretty good source IMO for the bottom ends of drafts (twitter link). I picked up C.Rodriguez on waivers - another backup RB stab.
