Skimming the web and came across some news that Bill Belichick said the NFL wants to get rid of kickoffs. Didn't see this on Sportscenter (unless I missed it).

Seen it on CBS and some blog. I usually lurk but if you guys want me to post the links, I will but I don't want to spam or link if it "goes against house rules."

Does anyone really watch them, anyway? You know it follows a ridiculously-long commercial break, and will have another immediately following this 5 second play. On the rare instance something worth watching actually happens (which is even LESS likely now), there will be replay after the commercials.Frankly, it's a waste of time.

If there were no kickoffs then there would be no onside kicks. If onside kicks are a waste of time just look at Super Bowl XLIV.

we should get rid of field goals as well , td's can go also , replace the ball with a round ball and use ur feet , kick it into an onion bag for 1 point .

He only made these comments five months ago. His point was not that they are going to get rid of kickoffs entirely, but moving kicks up will effectively eliminate many kickoffs.
