NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (3 Viewers)

If anyone around here is interested in going to this year's Winter Classic at Nats Park, let me know via PM. They gave longtime Nats season ticket holders a chance to buy tickets before the public on sale date, including a "limited" second pre-sale today. Happy to give you the link and password for today's presale, and if that doesn't work out we can also talk about you taking some or all of my tickets at face value. Warning: the prices, even with a discount they gave us, are totally ridiculous.

The Blackhawks gave STHs a presale as well and I was disappointed in the quality of the seats we were offered. I agree that they were pricier than I expected.

If you want to see what they're offering up on this end lemme know and I can email you the link/passcode. My current seats are in 224 Row D if anyone is interested. Was hoping to sell two of them at a profit to cover the ridiculous cost of the other two, but might just let all four go at face value if there's FFA hockey fans who would put them to good use.

haven't been an outdoor game yet, and don't really want to. not sure why people go so nuts for these tickets.

Hawks rookie D man Trevor Van Riemsdyk out ~3 months. Fractured Patella from blocking a shot, undergoing surgery today. Sucks, kid was playing really well and Q was increasing his minutes.

The novelty certainly has worn off. I went to the UMass-UVM game (sorry) at Fenway, and a couple of HS games there. We were standing up behind the third base grandstand, so the winning goal in OT was scored about a half-mile away from us.

Harding not claimed. nice insurance to have in Iowa.
If he goes:@russotrib: For those who inquired, via #mnwild goalie Josh Harding's agent, he does intend to report to Iowa

12:47pm - 18 Nov 14
he's playing in the last year of his deal with a debilitating, non-curable disease. pretty sure he's going to report or he might as well hang them up now.
YepMany injuries and then MS have kept him out of a lot of games over his career. Wonder how good he could have really been (and for how long) if he could have stayed healthy. Unfortunate.

As a Blackhawks homer my first thought was Roenick. Cross-referencing Hockeyfights.com and hockey-reference.com it appears Roenick's second NHL fight gained him admittance to the Gordie Howe hat trick club.

Feb 1, 1990 - 1G, 2A, Craig Berube

Jan 15, 1994 - 1G, 1A, Brad Dalgarno

Jan 25, 1994 - 1G, 1A, Vladimir Konstantinov

Feb 24, 1994 - 4G, 1A, Igor Ulanov

Dec 10, 1995 - 1G, 1A, Scott Daniels

Dec 29, 1995 - 1G, 2A, Matt Barnaby

Feb 24, 1997 - 2G, 1A, Vladimir Konstantinov

I would imagine 7 doesn't rank too bad on the list. Not to mention he was pretty much unstoppable in NHL '94 on the Sega.

Bruins defense so far this season:

Chara: torn PCL

Miller: dislocated shoulder

Krug: broken pinky

Warsofsky: groin

McQuaid (latest): broken thumb

:hangover:

Shanny is #1 with 17, Tocchet second with 15 and Brian Sutter third with 12. Jarome Iginla is the active leader with 9.

I eventually got to Shanny after a couple guesses, my first guess was Seabass himself, Cam Neely. Nice work guys.

I'm gonna make Gretzky's head bleed for Superfan99 over here.

So not only does Chris Pronger work for the league while still under contract with the Flyers, the HoF has changed their eligibility to "inactive" instead of retired. So Chris Pronger will most likely be enshrined while still under contract. Apparently it's Pronger's NHL and we're just watching it.

Claude G played through something tonight at MSG but it still wasn't enough. Believe that's 10 straight L's for the Flyers there.

Bob Mckenzie crushes Milbury on NBCSN broadcast. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/watch-bob-mckenzie-s-sick-burn-on-mike-milbury-s-gm-career--video-021249200.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=tw
Easy money in the Garden, besides the fact they have one line.Milbury looks like 10x the fool sitting next to Mackenzie every Wednesday night.

Your son shares a birthday with a great and knowledgeable man, who has seen his favorite team win 3 Stanley cups. That's 3 more than most Flyers fans can remember.

The prices for the "Stadium Series" games were nuts as well, and there are more of those and it was less of an "event". I know people that got killed trying to get rid of extras as it got closer and NYC was going through a terrible cold spell. Tickets were going for about 30% of face in some sections. Just a caution if you end up buying your full allotment without committed buddies.

Thanks for the heads up. Currently they're well over face on the resale market so I'm gonna sell off at least some of them as soon as I get them in hand and can put them on Stubhub. Just thought I'd offer the FFA hockey crowd the opportunity at face value first. Offer still stands if anyone is interested.

The higher the better for stadium series. It was very difficult for my son to see anything in the lower level as everyone was standing all game

and I had to hold him which was not fun for me

I like that these East teams keep scheduling their ceremonies against the Wild so the games don't start until 7 central. it's hard to get in front of the TV by 6.

:hifive:

Damn Jack Johnson with $50k in assets but $10 millions in debts. Nice parents, but stupid for him to rely on them.

Nice is an understatement

Barely a month later, on April 14, 2011, the Johnsons borrowed $3 million — at 24 percent — from Pro Player Funding in upstate New York, a company that “monetized” several NFL players’ contracts during a work stoppage. Former NFL stars Vince Young, who went bankrupt, and Bryant McKinnie, who was sued for default, were among the company’s clients.

How does this happen: The Sharks are playing only their sixth home game of the season. They've already played 16 on the road.
