NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (2 Viewers)

Dickie, let's beat those stinkin' Habs tonight! :hifive:
Considering half the team was driving by your house on the way up 95 from Providence this morning, I'm not surprised it turned out the way it did ... again.

They trotted out a fourth line of Lindblad (NHL debut), Khokhlachev (3rd game) and Fraser.

Caps generated a ton of shots but not much traffic in front of Enroth or created many PP's with only 1(the only goal).

Typical trap game for a mediocre team but hat tip to the Sabres for skating hard and outworking them when it counted.
Mediocre?
Right now I would say yes.Should be much better but the lack of a consistent game has killed them all year.
wait, which team are you talking about

Milan Lucic, on being KTFO by Prout:

"It was the end of the game and I let him know that I wasn't going to fight him." he told reporters. "I wasn't prepared and I let my guard down and that's what happens when you let your guard down. I've been in over 100 fights and I never took a shot like that.

"There have been many times where I could've done the exact same thing, and I could've held off because he wouldn't drop his gloves. I find it to be gutless and that's my thoughts on it."

:lmao: Ok man.

How 'bout my Islanders !!!!

First place tie. Sweep back 2 back vs Pens.

They are the real deal.
It's November.Expected more from the Pens. It's Crosby & Malkin and not much else. Blake Comeau on the 1st line? LOL.
I'm quite aware of the fact that isles have played 1/4 of the season and have plenty of games left. Thank you.

I have not had the chance to be this happy with them around Thanksgiving.
Agreed. Just trying not get my hopes up. So much to be excited about though . . . Strome, Nelson, DeHaan, etc. They need to sign/extend Leddy & Boychuk now !

Here's another stat to be excited about, in 2 games vs the Isles this past weekend Crosby has 1 SOG and 0 pts.

This one is interesting too

According to @EliasSports the last time all #NYR forwards tallied at least one point in a game before tonight was on 12/17/1980 vs. Winnipeg

I'm glad Luuc got buckled because he's a complete meathead but he does have a point. Prout kind of sucker punched him after all.

Disagree. Lucic instigated it and then engaged him. This isn't Lucic's first time, he should know it's coming. Not Prout's fault he was slow with his gloves. At least that's how it looked to me.

Vanek/Koivu/Zucker looks like it could work, which would be huge to get Koivu going and Vanek scoring.

and just as important, it keeps Granlund with Parise and Pominville which is optimal IMO.

Doesn't matter who Nino skates with, he gets his.

I don't know what was actually said but Luuc seems to think that he told Prout he wasn't ready to go right then and then POW! If you watch the vid it seems to agree with what he said, he still had his gloves on. Either way I loved seeing it so really I don't care. Luuc is pure meat anyhow

I read that after I posted this as well. still, I have a hard time calling it a sucker punch when he's staring right at him. and Lucic of all people shouldn't get to turn down fights when he's crosschecking guys in the head.

regardless, everyone wins with the end result. :hifive:

will be interesting to see how long the Yotes keep forcing Mike Smith in there because of his massive contract. if I'm Tippett I'm riding Dubnyk. he finally looks like the guy he was drafted to be and the Yotes need someone to keep them in games most nights.

Lucic is a whining little baby, he got decked fair and square, just a blow to the pukes ego...

Marty Brodeur trying out with the Blues.

First the Michael Brown shooting and now Brodeur is in town. What next for St Louis?

Wild 1st period tonight was an embarrassment.

In the Caps game, that call on Backstrom in OT was equally embarrassing. Brutal call, cost them the game.
