NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (2 Viewers)

Come on Red Wings, thought you were better than that. Parlay killers.

Just can't stop the Wild. Crazy run.

Worst game of the year for Howard tonight. I see Mrazek almost running the table the next 11 games.

Abdelkader is turning into a force though.

Woof. Tough night for the Rangers.

I totally mushed Talbot earlier but he only had a chance on two of those four goals.

Just made the mistake of checking the Rangers board on HF. First multi-goal loss in two months and people are flipping the #### out and throwing in the towel. People talking about being more confident heading into the postseason last year.

crazy talk. If they win Thursday same people will be saying cup. Just stupid

All signs look to them being in a great position. However, they have an extremely tough last 10 games. 6/10 are vs playoff teams and the Bruins are fighting for their lives. Just a good thing they dont have Seguin.

I am more confident in this team than I have been in years. Add to that the fact that they are playing without Hank, Klein and MSL. The Kings played their A game last night, the Rangers didnt. With Klein in for Hunwick and less sloppy play, its a different game. Not saying a win, but...

Some website I saw has the Bolts at +1400 to win the Cup...10th best odds. They are one point off the pace for the President's and are +51 for the year, second only to NYR who are +52. I believe they were even behind the Islanders.

As a homer, what gives? Seems like they are loaded for bear.

I think they have a better team than last year. Kinda feel like I did in the 2012 playoffs. Hopefully with a better outcome.

I don't think oddsmakers are down on Tampa as much as they are big on the Western Conference. The website I saw put Tampa 3rd at 5/1 to win the Eastern Conference, only trailing Montreal and NY Rangers. The Western Conference has won 6 of the last 8, and the last 3 consecutive cups. I think that's the issue more than anything.

I agree. best value in the East. bet them.

I'm guessing it has to do with their home/away splits and that TB would be expected to be away for two games.

Home record: 30W 7L 1OL

Away record: 16W 14L 6OL

May be a bit of a stretch, but I'm thinking Rangers and then Anaheim.

eta: this article has them at 12:1 - tied for 6th best.

Was at the Hawks game to experience another loss in Philadelphia. At least it wasn't a heart breaker this time and although my team who needed the points lost, it's probably the most enjoyable loss I could experience. I take some pleasure and humor in the fact that they haven't won in the regular season in philly since 1996(11) games and and overall have 1 win in the last 14 games, and that win won the cup.

I'm usually never tempted by NHL futures odds but if I had to pick, Capitals at 28 to 1 seems fair. risk of them not making it in I guess but I think they could be a different team than usual with trotz coaching.

Vegas currently has

Isles 50-1

Rags 12-1

Hate to say it but I don't think my Isles are going to pull it off but at 50-1 it was worth the twenty bucks.
hate to say it but you may want to hit the refresh button on those odds since October.
I'm seeing 12-1 for the Isles right now.

Jets at 50-1 seems like something worth a shot though and your Wild are at 8-1(only behind Hawks and Rags).

One of the biggest questions as the end of the regular season approaches is less about the playoff races and more about the "Tank Wars." Which of the league's worst teams is going to have the opportunity to draft top prospects Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel? It turns out that we will have that answer very soon.

The NHL Draft lottery will be held April 18 according to Damien Cox of Sportsnet. All 14 teams that do not make the Stanley Cup Playoffs will have a shot at the No. 1 pick, with the teams lowest in the standings having the greatest odds.

The team that finishes the regular season in last place will have a 20 percent chance of earning the first overall pick. Unfortunately for them, that means there is an 80 percent chance they won't get the opportunity to pick consensus No. 1 McDavid. That said, they have a 100 percent chance of at least nabbing consensus No. 2 pick Eichel. Teams can fall no further than one spot below their spot in the regular-season standings.

As a refresher, here's a look at the odds, which were altered by the NHL over the summer -- much to the chagrin of Buffalo Sabres general manager Tim Murray.

2015 NHL DRAFT LOTTERY ODDS PLACEMENT (AS OF 3/25/15) ODDS FOR FIRST PICK 30th (BUF) 20% 29th (ARI) 13.5% 28th (EDM) 11.5% 27th (TOR) 9.5% 26th (CAR) 8.5% 25th (CLB) 7.5% 24th (NJD) 6.5% 23rd (PHI) 6.0% 22nd (SJS) 5.0% 21st (COL) 3.5% 20th (FLA) 3.0% 19th (DAL) 2.5% 18th (BOS) 2.0% 17th (LAK) 1.0% If the season ended today, the Sabres would have the best odds of ending up with McDavid. Following the Sabres in order are the Arizona Coyotes, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes.

McDavid recently finished his OHL regular season with 120 points in 47 games with the Erie Otters. Eichel, meanwhile, is the leading scorer in the NCAA with 66 points in 36 games. His Boston University Terriers are about to begin the NCAA national tournament this weekend.

The 2015 NHL Entry Draft will be held at the BB&T Center, home of the Florida Panthers, June 26-27.

I would love to see someone jump up, especially if Arizona ends up finishing last. I don't even care if it's the Devils or Flyers.

That place is unbearable. It's amazing, I get older - all the posters there stay 14 years old.
