Not since John Malkovich accepted the lead in "Being John Malkovich" has any actor been as perfectly suited for a part.
(and, yes, the script for "Being John Malkovich" was titled that and completely written before anyone actually talked to Malkovich about doing the film)
Malkovich is an awesome actor. And I'm not trying to throw too much shade at Cage, but I wonder if the director had hoped to get someone better to play Cage and had to settle?

The thing with Cage is that he's not legally allowed to turn down work. He gets a lot of crap for his recent movies, but, it's not really his fault. It's not like he's choosing these parts, he's forced to take them (his finances are a complete mess and he owes so much to the IRS that they require him to take any paycheck offered).
I kind of always liked the one where he was just a large-scale seller of weapons to third-world countries, just trying to provide for his family, as it were.
