didn't barnett start the season playing limited snaps with some kind of injury?anyway, wk2 he was in on 9 tackles, and week 4 he was in on 10.the little blurb I read has bishop in for him, and supposedly hawk was getting in on nickel last week.anybody have a feel for the nickel guys in gb currently?Mark Kamenski said:Barnett has been invisible this year. Hawk was only getting more snaps (3rd down reps) because Chillar has been injured. To me, Hawks play has only been average anyway. I think this is a HUGE bump for Bishop. The kid can already play 3 downs, so now he will actually get his chance to shine. Multiple sources tell the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel that Packers ILB Nick Barnett may need season-ending surgery on his right wrist.Barnett could try to play through the injury, depending on the results of a second opinion. He's getting one Friday. The loss would be major for a Green Bay run defense that led the NFL in 2009, but has fallen off dramatically at the quarter-season mark. The Packers are giving up an NFC-high 5.2 yards per carry. Desmond Bishop will take Barnett's spot in the starting lineup.Source: Milwaukee Journal-SentinelMark Kamenski said:Barnett has been invisible this year. So is bishop in the nickel then?Schefter reporting barnett out for season

Bishop is like a heat-seeking missile the way he tracks the ball on running plays and is a much more powerful, violent tackler than Hawk. However, the knock on Bishop is that for every exceptional play that he makes, he gives up a big play, specifically in coverage. Still, Bishop has tremendous upside, and if he can brush up his coverage skills enough to get into some nickle plays, I feel strongly that he could be a monster. He's been hungering for an opportunity like this too and I think he's going to be a real revelation as Barnett's replacement. I've been snatching him up in every league that I'm in.so who will get more tackles going forward? Bishop or Hawk?
Bishop has done nothing statistically (FF) in his 4 year carreer.Bishop is like a heat-seeking missile the way he tracks the ball on running plays and is a much more powerful, violent tackler than Hawk. In the only game he has started in 4 years this is what he did.12/7/08 vs. Houston 8 tackles 4 assists 1 sack 2 forced fumbles Probably won't be a world beater but worth a look. There have been other LB's who came on after a few years in the league....Brackett, Dhani Jones...just off the top of my head. Key is the nickel packages. Might be the time to stash before Sunday and everyone realizes he is a 3 down guy. If he's not then he's an easy cut. Would rather be ahead of the curve.Bishop has done nothing statistically (FF) in his 4 year carreer.Bishop is like a heat-seeking missile the way he tracks the ball on running plays and is a much more powerful, violent tackler than Hawk. He's Lawrence Timmons without the draft pedigree, buy now and ask questions later. You either bought a gem for a waiver pickup (David Hawthorne 2009) or can replace a waiver pickup dud (Ricky Brown 2009) with another waiver wildcard (James Anderson).Bishop has done nothing statistically (FF) in his 4 year carreer.Bishop is like a heat-seeking missile the way he tracks the ball on running plays and is a much more powerful, violent tackler than Hawk. Seemed about the same as last year. He hasn't been as productive (or Hawk) since they went to the 3-4. Bishop has deserved playing time for a couple of years now but Hawk and Barnett were getting paid big $$$.Barnett has been invisible this year. Bump Hawk (as he'll get more snaps), but I can't imagine Matthews being any more productive.
Green Bay homers, how good is Desmond Bishop? Who are some guys you would rank him near? I have him in one league already and started him this past week, considering picking him up in some other leagues but unsure if he's worth dropping who I already have
