Unfortunately, I could never have kids of my own. I’m pretty close to my nieces. I have 2 and a younger brother.
My sister is divorced and throughout her 12 years of marriage, the relationship between her and her husband was awful. She was mentally, emotionally, and physical abused by her husband. So I would step in and had her kids 80-95% of the time throughout their whole lives then all 3 moved in with me after her divorce (it was only my brother and I, and I had plenty of space in my home so I was happy they were there) after her divorce until 2 years ago, when they moved out.
I practically raised them, they’re like my babies! I did everything for them like they were mine. Although my sister and I are not as close as I would love us to be but I’m much closer to my nieces.
I will be at all of her milestone accomplishments. I was there for her Elementary and Middle School promotions so this would not be any different!
