holy #### that brunette at 1:25 and 1:40
She had more time left than she did last year and fell off the cargo net. There is one woman that made it past stage 1, not as hot.
AJ Watt would crush the course. For those of you not familiar with Ninja Warrior, here is ninja warrior 101
American Ninja Warrior starts this Sunday night.....no American has ever completed the course.
My question to the FFA is, could an American from one of the 4 major professional sports be able to complete the ninja warrior course?
If yes, who?
Depends on the course, I'd say. The preliminaries, I could see a major pro sport athlete getting through, depending on the obstacles. A city finals course would be very unlikely. And Mount Midoriyama Stage 1, I don't see them making it.
break that down for me...Also need to dial back the "million dollar" prize element here. No TV show awards a million dollars. Even if you take away the tax writeoff the present value of these million dollar prizes are in the 225-275k range depending on how it's paid out. After taxes sometimes it's hard to even clear 100k on a "million dollar" prize. Yes, nice money if you can get it but it's a huge scam on the public.
An Olympic gymnast, however (like whatever his name is - the "Phoenix" Ninja") could potentially demolish these courses. They are making all the courses harder and harder. Typically the big former collegiate athletes struggle tremendously. This is requires so much grip strength that it becomes increasingly more difficult to succeed the bigger you are.
Some of those guys (not Olympic level) have struggled due to that whole grip strength at 170 versus 240 thing. It's been pretty crazy watching guys and girls that have historically been very good start failing on the prelims and city courses. They are getting flat out brutal. An Olympic gymnast, however (like whatever his name is - the "Phoenix" Ninja") could potentially demolish these courses.
When people win the Powerball. Its a 100 million bucks. But the cash turns out to be what? 35? Same concept. Its not a check its an annuity.break that down for me...
How does 1M become 100K clear?
I wasn't suggesting he could complete the course but he could definitely destroy it with his bare hands. Dudes a beast.Henry Ford said:

Makes no sense to compare this to the lottery. There isn't a lump sum vs annuity option with ANW. You win $1mm. After tax, it's something like 500k.When people win the Powerball. Its a 100 million bucks. But the cash turns out to be what? 35? Same concept. Its not a check its an annuity.
Game show taxes are 55% which lottery doesnt quite have to pay. (Check state) so you start with present value of a 20 to 30 year annuity thats 45% depleted by taxes off the top. Then potentially state taxes and you got chump change.

one link for one show 6 years ago? you sure all shows do it this way?link?
The standard million dollar payout is $500 a week for 40 years. Back in the Richard Hatch era it was $1000 a week for 20 years. You can find any number of articles which states this as fact.

This is the industry standard now. You can get a PV payout of 265k to 300k. After taxes looking at no more than half of that.
Prove me wrong, I'm all ears.one link for one show 6 years ago? you sure all shows do it this way?
On his death bed, he will receive total consciousness. So, he has that going for him, which is nice.those were definitely the clearly stated rules... any outrage is because he was the first American to ever do this, but ultimately gets nothing for it.how about a little something, you know, for the effort.

Here's one from AMT

Survivor moved to the 500/40 model as well. I can post a wall of links if you'd like.![]()
Maybe it is just AGT that does this. You've shown 2 articles now, both for how this show pays out. I honestly don't know.
I was really hoping this would end with Charlotte Flair taking her out with a folding chair after the first obstacle.
He’d probably do well, but no guarantee he’d be as good/better than Caldiero, who has bouldered and free soloed* harder grades than Honnold. Plus the balance and parkour style obstacles don’t translate directly to rock climbing.Watching reruns of this while I can’t sleep. Would Alex Honnold just destroy these courses? I’m assuming he never competed??
