With the pitching the Phillies have? I can't see that.
I said I'd love to see it, and stranger things have happened in baseball. No one gave the Reds a chance in the 1990 World Series and no one gave the Tigers a chance to beat the Yankees in 2006 ALDS. Phillies are due a bad series and the Reds did win 91 games.

Reds are a young team thats inexperienced or else I would say they have a chance to pull off the upset, but I can't take them. Phillies are not only the hotest team in baseball they have their lineup healthy mix that in with their pitching and they win in 3.

Reds will sneak out one win but no way do they win this series. I was hoping the Phils would get the Giants because thats the only team in the NL with a shot (at least in a short series).

I am looking forward to seeing that Chapman kid pitch - when does Dusty typically use him?

Considering the pitching matchups and the fact the Reds have a losing record against every playoff team, as a Reds fan I'd be thrilled if they won 1 game to give them 2 home games.

The Philly Phaithful is might over confident in this one. A lot of them are calling for Philly in 2, as the Reds will be so embarrassed with the beating they took in the first two games....they won't show up for the third one. While Philly's three starters are going to be tough to beat.... Cincy has some decent starters, a good bullpen and a potent O. Plus, Philly's O has been very inconsistent this year. I think Philly takes it.....but I wouldn't be surprised to see Cincy push it to five games.

Phils in 4. Reds might win game 1 against Halladay (If they don't win game 1, Phils sweep). But they won't beat Oswalt or Hamels in 2 and 3. Both those guys own the Reds.

Reds in 4. They beat Halladay once this year and another game was a 0-0 ties between Halladay and Woods that Philly won in extra innings. Oswalt did own the Reds, but the crushed his ### the last time he started against them while in Houston. Bruce is on a great roll right now, Votto is Votto, and aslong as Phillips keeps his mouth shut and just plays he should be ok. Rolen has also hit very well in Philly since he left them.

Halladay had a 2.11 ERA in his 2 starts against the Reds with 19 K and 1 BB in 17 innings. This evidence is a good thing for the Reds when breaking it down?

The Reds will be playing in November... They are going to shock the world.

Game 1... Volquez has some nasty stuff, but there will be nerves for sure. I see him going 5 innings and surrendering 1 run. From there it should be a mix of Chapman, Masset, Rhodes, and Cordero. I think the combo gives up 2 runs over the last 4 innings. Halladay has to be pumped for this game, but I think he is going to run into trouble in the 7th and end up surrendering 3 runs. The Reds will do what they have done so often in the regular season and find a way to put a 4th run on the board and Cordero will come in and make everyone in Cincinnati nervous by walking the first batter in the 9th, but then settle down to save game 1 for the Reds. A huge victory for the Reds.

Game 2... Oswalt has owned the Reds over the years and Bronson Arroyo despite being the ace of this staff is starting game 2 for a reason. I think the Phillies even up this series at 1-1 after homering their way to victory against Arroyo early and often. Phillies take this one 7-2.

Game 3... Cincinnati fans will be ready for this game. First playoff game at home since 1995. Cueto has been pretty good throughout 2010, but Hamels has been almost unhittable lately. Hamels is also strong against Cincinnati with a 4-0 record since 2007. You have to give this one to the Phillies right? I think not. Somewhere deep in Hamel's mind are the 2009 bad outings in the divisional series and world series. The Reds will come out hitting early, surprise Hamels, and Cueto will pitch well enough to get it to the bullpen with a 2 run lead. They do their job and the Reds have a chance to win the series on Sunday against Roy Halladay.

Game 4... Rematch of game 1. I can't see Halladay being responsible for two losses in this postseason, but I don't see him picking up the win in this game either. He'll end up with a no decision after going 8 strong innings and only giving up two runs. Edinson Volquez is going to pitch one of the best games of his career in this game, but still he'll surrender a couple runs. He'll exit in inning 7 and Chapman will once again come in and shut the Phillies down in inning 8. So what will Baker do with score tied at 2-2 and in a non save situation? Do you leave Chapman in there for the 9th, bring in Cordero, or go with someone else? Baker stays with the Cuban and he doesn't disappoint. He blows away Howard with a 105 MPH fast ball. Werth steps up and connects with one, but hits it foul. He later grounds out to Cabrera for two outs. Ibanez also makes contact, but it is an innocent ground ball to Votto who steps on the bag and brings it to the bottom of the 9th. With one out and the no one on base, Drew Stubbs steps to the plate and does the unthinkable... knocks the Phillies out of the playoffs with a shot in the bleachers and sends the Reds into the NLCS against Baker's former team, the Giants.

Reds 3-1 in the NLDS.

LET'S GO PHILLIES!!!

Working my guy for Friday tix :fingerscrossed:

That's awesome man, nice breakdown! But I think Hamels has a World Series MVP somewhere deep in his mind too. :kicksrock:Good luck man, should be a good series.

Huge, HUGE Reds homer, but realistically, I got the Phillies in 4.

But, ### #### I'd love for them to shock the world!

No one gave the '90 Reds a shot either.... :boxing:

Freakin Phillies. Those doofus fans up there don't really need anything else to be excited about.

Well, last I checked, they only get 1 win for this game, right?

Props to Doc. He made the best offense in the NL look really, really bad.

Last time I watched was in the 4th. I turned it on in the 9th with one out and thought "wow, that crowd sure is loud for a foul popup in the 9th of a game that's been over for 5 innings now." Didn't realize until the last out was made that it was a no-hitter.

####in' awesome.
