No FBG Week 16 love for Fred Taylor? (1 Viewer)

I don't get it. Dodds' cheatsheet has Freddie as the #25 RB and Bloom has him as #24. But JAX is facing Oakland -- 31st against the rush -- at home and Freddie has been running wild (well, semi-wild) the past four weeks. He did 147 yards and a TD against the Steelers, fergawdsake! Wassup?

I'm a little wary about Taylor in any given week simply because he doesnt usually get 20 carries, he doesnt catch many passes, and he doesn't usually get carries inside the 5. I have him projected for solid rushing numbers and almost a 50/50 at a TD, and I would probably start him over the 2 or 3 backs immediately ahead of him because of the favorable matchup. Any higher than that is dicey imo because of the nature of the work he usually gets, but I would understand starting him in any just about any scenario in deference to the "hot hand" theory.

I understand what you're saying, but this could have been said for each of his last 6 games as well.Last 6 games, Taylor has a TD in 4 of his 6 games, he's reached a 100 yards in 4 of his last 6 games and is averaging 5.8 yards per carry and is going up against one of the worst rush defenses in the league.I was in the semi finals of my league last week and was just mind boggled before hand on why Drew Jones was ranked higher than Fred Taylor. I almost went with Jones because of it but last minute said it doesn't make sense, Taylor is running better right now, go with him and if it doesn't work out, it doesn't.Turned out if I would have started Drew Jones over Taylor, the difference Taylor gave me I would have lost. I have the same situation here this week in the championship and I can tell you I'm starting Taylor. There's certainly a chance Taylor won't get as many fantasy points as Jones.....but there's a chance that Phillip Rivers can get more points than Tom Brady......you have to play the percentages and although the Taylor/Jones comparison may be a lot closer than the River/Brady one I brought up......regardless, IMO looking at those two running backs the past month to a month and a half Fred Taylor is the better back.Going with Fred Taylor over MJD!

I agree, or I may just start both of them over the likes of over L. White and Edge
