Yeah, and what really angers me about the situation is that no where in the listing it said anything about no linens. Only after I pay the non-refundable deposit and get the lease agreement, I see the no linen policy. So dumb.RUSF18 said:Had the same with an OCNJ rental this past summer. They were sure to mention in the posting that there were no linens, no towels, no dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. We brought our own linens/bath towels and I tossed a couple rolls of TP into the car as well. Figured for everything else I would hit a grocery store.
When we got there, there was plenty of soap, TP, towels, etc either from the actual owner or left behind from prior renters. I maybe had to grab one thing when I went for food. Used our own sheets/bath towels. Frankly I'd probably rather do that than assume that stuff was cleaned from the prior renters. But it was just me and my wife and our daughter was in a pack and play...I imagine it's a bit more annoying to bring linens for a large family.
I would be sure to note 'NO LINENS' in the review after your stay. Your right about not #####ing about it now as you're kinda SOL.Yeah, and what really angers me about the situation is that no where in the listing it said anything about no linens. I want to tell the guy how I feel but I'm locked in now. He has the leverage and could #### me over after our stay by saying the place was trashed or something.
Gotcha, totally justifiable anger in that case. When I saw the one I talked about, it was one of the only negatives about the place but was still a consideration when evaluating options. By the end it was something I was willing to sacrifice.Yeah, and what really angers me about the situation is that no where in the listing it said anything about no linens. I'd like to cancel but my wife loves the place (great location). She wants to just go pick up some cheap sheets when we get there or possibly get the stuff from one of the local linen companies.Gotcha, totally justifiable anger in that case. Have you contacted VRBO? That's a pretty major miss on the owner's part and should have been disclosed. They may let you out of that deposit if you raise enough hell/catch the right person.
In that case, maybe just try and get VRBO to give you a discount on the rental. I'm sure you can come up with something about how you chose this place over cheaper options, you wouldn't have if this policy was disclosed, now I have to either travel with another suitcase or spend more money out of pocket, etc.I'd like to cancel but my wife loves the place (great location). Yep, this. The towels were a PITA, but I prefer to bring my own sheets and pillows if Im staying somewhere for a week.Same thing for a rental in the Outer Banks we have this summer. Never heard of it prior to this.
Thanks for not making me bring linens GB.Any time I have ever rented a place in NJ or OCMD we always had to bring our own linens. So I bought a place and don't have to worry about it anymore. Standard practice imo.
I'm fairly certain the owner needs to rate you before you rate the place.Yeah, and what really angers me about the situation is that no where in the listing it said anything about no linens. Only after I pay the non-refundable deposit and get the lease agreement, I see the no linen policy. So dumb.

PrudeI'd rather bring a few sheets and towels than sleep in someone else's jizz![]()
You are special people. Only special people get the use of the whole acer beach experience. Thanks for not making me bring linens GB.
This must be an East Coast thing. I've never seen this in California. In fact, every VRBO/AirBNB I've stayed at not only had plenty of sheets and towels but a stocked kitchen and fridge as well.Any time I have ever rented a place in NJ or OCMD we always had to bring our own linens. FB? What's that? They probably looked you up on FB and saw your dirty, greasy ### and updated their policy.
