Yes, I know he's 32-years-old. Yes, I know he's taken 3,100 caries. But let's think about this for a second. The Jets like to run the ball and will be among the league leaders in attempts. LT2 accumulated about 1,300 total yards last year (4.2 YPC) and he is still the best running back on the Jets roster. Someone has to get the ball when Greene gets: (a) Hurt (b) benched for under performance.

Shonn Greene hasn't proven a thing yet. Yes, he has the backing of Rex Ryan, but didn't he have this last pre-season and LT2 went on to out-carry and out-produce Greene by a pretty wide margin? Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight are nice players, but lack the toughness that LT2 possesses.

LT2 put up 1,300 total and 6 TDs last season, which are good enough for RB2s in PPR leagues.

Other than his age, what has really changed for Tomlinson this season? Rex saying that Greene will (once again) be the primary ball carrier? The threat of Powell and McKnight? I'm not buying into this. In 12-team PPR leagues, he's going in the 10th round and keep shooting up.

I just think that LT2 is a great value pick this year at the end of draft. Enjoy!

If you play in a best ball format or a 2 Flex format I think his value increases. Starting him every week as your RB2...gonna have problems IMO.

His YPC took a dive in the 2nd half after showing a glimpse of his former glory in the 1st half. He'll get more carries than the usual back-up, but I think the coaching staff learned their lesson by overworking LDT in the 1st half last year.

Huge Jets homer here:

Last year was the perfect storm for LT. He showed up to camp looking amazing from day 1 with a burst and elusiveness he hadn't shown in 2-3 years while in San Diego. That coupled with Shonn Greene fumbling twice in the season opener opened the door to LT having a much larger (and deserved) role than originally planned. However, he severly broke down as the season wore on and was half as explosive later in the year as he was earlier. If the LT that played late last season was the LT that showed up at camp last season, it wouldn't have mattered that Greene fumbled twice on opening day, LT still would not have warrented a larger role than he was supposed to receive last year.

Unfortunatley for Jets fans (but fortunately for Shonn Greene owners), the LT that showed up early last season is no where to be found right now. He has looked slow and below average at best this preseason and throughout camp. If Greene were to get hurt, the only reason LT would be on the field is his veteran presence and pass protection alongside a young QB. Joe McKnight (who HAS looked explosive) would see the field just as much as LT would on early downs.

Owning Shonn Greene this year is MUCH safer than it was this same time last season.

Gee, you must own LT, typical on thisd board this time of year. You answered your own question about why LT is getting no love about 12 times.Greene is the better player now, he just is.

It seems this is his last season. I don't expect him to do very well, but such is life, he might throw a 150 yard game out of nowhere just to remind us how great he once was.

Great post. The reason I come here is for homer insight, I don't own nor will I own LT this year but, I love this type info. This is what the s.pool should be used for IMO.

Agreed, if it was, they would not need loud mouth idiots like me to call out the useless posts.I was talking to Judy Battista via Twitter, and she seems to say a heavy dose of Greene is coming, I have a huge feeling about this guy because of the things coming out of New York. A lot of people have him sliding under their radar, helps out sharks like me and some of you.

I'm not sure we need "loud mouth idiots" at all, sorry. You've convinced yourself that you're providing a valuable service by acting this way. But keep in mind--without the OP's "useless post" we wouldn't have gotten the homer info that's been praised in this thread. Somebody's gotta start the conversation. Check your ego a bit. Statements like "sharks like me and some of you" really rub people the wrong way.

LT? I try to have players on my roster that are starting. LT may still have a little bit left in him but I try to stay away from older RBs that are second string too.

this guy is done. did you not watch him after week 7 last year? if you are looking for 50-70 total yards you found your guy

Just doesn't make much sense to join a message board community, if you're going to purposely communicate poorly.
