No sign of Dez Bryant at practice (1 Viewer)

I said that last year Banker. I don't understand how it took them so long to figure that out. He runs like a wild stallion, he actually hurts himself trying so hard. If it were the SB or down by 7 in a big game, ya use him. But week 1 and you're already thin at WR behind Dez and Austin, I don't understand that line if thinking.

GTD and they have nothing at WR besides Austin and Dez...
and Ogeltree, not sure if Hurd is still in the mix.....and some guy named Witten who will get more receptions than Austin or Bryant and they can play Phillips at TE and split Witten out when they choose

Even if Dez goes, can we be confident he is a good start? Could he be limited in the # of series he plays? I have a couple of other WR options who have late games, and I'm not sure I want to gamble on Dez even if he is active.

I'm in the same boat. Like I had mentioned in another thread he isn't a Nicks that will play tough. He seems to fade when hurt. I'm seriously considering just giving moss the start since he plays at 10am regardless if Dez can go. A healthy moss against the Cards seems better than a hurt Dez.

Dez Bryant - WR - Cowboys

Sports Illustrated's Peter King believes Dez Bryant will be inactive for Week 2.

King is arguably the NFL's most plugged in reporter, so it's unlikely he was simply passing along his own personal opinion. With the Cowboys and 49ers not kicking off until 4:05 ET tomorrow, Bryant simply isn't worth the risk if you have any sort of an alternative.

As a Romo owner, this is indeed trying. Thinking Cutler may have to be my play if Dez sits.
I thought i was "cute" last week sitting romo for big ben, that cost me a win. Im thinking this week i should play big ben again over romo just because the fantasy gods might want to screw me each week with these guys. i will trick the gods and again go with big ben. They wont see that coming.... Also going with manningham over Dez. Thats how tricky i am!!....

Please think twice before you post. It is highly unlikely than anyone will think your personal lineup decisions are of importance to them. Rather just post if you have general advice or injury update news. Thanks.

I hope he sits to get healthy for the rest of the season.I read they probably won't have him doing much punt returns the rest of the season (duh).

I'm not taking the risk either. Dez kicks off at 4:05, my other 3 rostered WR's all kick off at 1. I'm rolling with Nate Burleson.

@evansilva

Reliable reporters and the small bit of insider info I cobbled together all points to #Cowboys WR Dez Bryant not playing. I'd bench him

We know Romo will have a solid day so the question is who gets the production beyond Felix, Austin, and Witten? I'd think both backup TE's will factor in but for fantasy the question is will Ogletree have a surprising game? They let Roy walk and now Olgetree is starting. If the 49ers rightly double cover Austin and perhaps even Witten it'll be up to Ogletree to make them pay.

I wonder why the Cowboy play him at Punt returner ?? Why risk an injury to your best WR , and future star, for marginal return yard ??

Do we? Without Dez I'm thinking the field shrinks a bit and the defense can control the tempo. Doesn't help that Romo still loses focus once in awhile. Then again, if you consider a solid day to be around 350/2 as it was last week then I'm in agreement with you here--that's just not what I hoped for drafting Romo when I did!

Got the same choice. I played Cutler last week for the matchup with Cutler outscoring Romo by a point. Sure didn't draft them that way but never been averse to playing matchups with studs when apropriate.

Dez_88: Mind off the fight...it's game time..goodnight

I still think he goes...but is limited. This is just my opinion and have nothing to back it up with.

Maybe red zone only...?

so you drafted Romo expecting better production this year than 5600 yards and 32 TDs?...if so then yeah, you are gonna be disappointed frequentlyI know there were alot of QBs who went off last week but please let's put it in perspective...and for the record I have no idea if Romo will put up good fantasy numbers or not, but I do know what good fantasy numbers look like...I drafted A. Rodgers and if he put up 350/2 every week I wouldn't complain once
