NO STAT ZONE: give 3 predictions from the gut (1 Viewer)

I realize that bottom line....fantasy football is all about stats.....but sometimes threads get too messy with them...give me something in here not based on stats.....just something you feel will happen for no other reason than you are the mutha of all that is fantasy football......

Example:

1. Shawn Nelson will be a fantasy factor this year. Dude is a beast. I don't feel he was utilized properly in the past, can create matchup problems, and new staff in BUF will unleash his ability. QB play may suck, but I think this is the year he breaks out.

2. Derek Anderson will be the QB to own in AZ. Leinart will be given every chance to win the job, but he won't. Something about Leinart tells me he folds his tent at the first sign of adversity. If he throws up a 3 pick game in the pre-season or early season and hears some boos, he will be done. Actually the QB to own in AZ may not even be on their roster right now.

3. Devin Aromashado will end the season as the best Bears WR. I pimped this guy in all the early drafts over in the mock draft forum. What I saw at the end of last year looked more like a trend/breakout than a one hit wonder for the last few weeks. He just had that look of a guy that has learned to be a playmaker. Cutler loves him. Many think some of the other smaller, faster WR's are the ones to own in Martz system, but I think DA is the real deal.

go......

1) jamaal charles finishes in the top 5 for RB scoring.

2) roddy white is the TD leader among WRs

3) randy moss finishes with 8 or less TDs

flame away!

1) Philip Rivers totally drops out of the top 2 tiers of QBs and is considered in line with guys like Eli, Flacco, Ryan, etc

2) Cedric Benson falls back down to earth and doesn't justify his ADP

3) Michael Bush becomes a workhorse and racks up over 275 touches via the ground and air

1 - Crabtree and Nicks will not live up to the hype this year

2 - Frank Gore could be the #1 RB in PPR

3 - The best late round RB value in ppr is LeSean McCoy - guy is going super late

Witten = 2009 Cooley (out of the top-10 TEs)

Marshall, RMoss - not in the top-10 WRs

Forte not in the top-20

1. Jonathan Stewart will average more fantasy points per touch than DeAngelo Williams.

2. Reggie Wayne will not be a top-10 fantasy WR.

3. Chad Henne will have more fantasy points per game than Joe Flacco.

:goodposting: ....got the same feeling........completely disagree on the first one though......SD is a pass 1st team now....or at least until Matthews becomes the next coming of LT.....

Jamaal Charles and Rashard Mendenhall are this year's Slaton/Forte

2 of these guys will be this year's Sidney Rice/Miles Austin/Mike Sims Walker - Harry Douglas, James Jones, Jacoby Jones, Laurent Robinson, Chaz Schilens

Dexter McCluster wins R.O.Y.

Well, I like the 49ers because they're pure of heart, Seattle because they've got something to prove, and the Raiders because they always cheat.

You will be happy if you acquire any of these guys at his current price in PPR leagues:

Jahvid Best

Chad Henne

Michael Crabtree

Dez Bryant (dynasty only)

I also like the LeSean McCoy call, as I think he has a reasonable chance of being a breakout top 10 RB ala Ray Rice.

1. Schaub will be a top-3 QB

2. Neither Wayne nor Clark will not be the leading receiver on the Colts

3. Brandon Jacobs will have a bounceback year.

Brandon Jackson becomes "The Man" in Green Bay rushing attack.

Terrell Owens outperforms Randy Moss statistically.

JETS miss the playoffs.

1. Carson Palmer finishes in Top 5 - Palmer has been surrounded by a very good cast with Ochocinco, Bryant and new TE Jermaine Gresham. The continued off-the-field issues with Cedric Benson will cause the Bengals to either depend on Bernard Scott or look at a FA acquisition of someone like Brian Westbrook. This will lead to the Bengals passing a bit more with the additional weapons at the receiving positions.

2. Felix Jones finishes in the Top 5 in RBs in all formats - Jones is one of the most explosive RBs in the league and with a receiving corps of Austin, Bryant, Crayton, Ogletree and Witten, he will see plenty of room up front. His ability to catch out of the backfield will make him a double-threat.

3. Chaz Schilens will finally have that breakout season - After numerous seasons of injuries, Schilens will finally stay healthy with a decent QB in Jason Campbell. Defenses will be watching the running attack of McFadden and Bush, along with the receiving abilities of Zac Miller..and dare I say...DHB...Schilens will become the receiver we have seen in past pre-season situations.

1. Jahvid Best will have people comparing him to Barry Sanders

2. Randy Moss will tear a hammy.

3. Brett Favre will get injured and retire mid-season.

Miles Austin is your 2010 #1 fantasy WR in all formats

Ronnie Brown is a top 10 fantasy RB

Phillip Rivers maintains 4000 yards and 30 TDs

Clinton Portis has one year of 1200 yards and 8 TDs left in the tank

Frank Gore is your 2010 #1 fantasy RB in all formats

I usually post these closer to the start of preseason, but hey, what the heck...?

Early gut feelings...

1) TO will sign with someone during preseason (not sure who yet - teams don't know enough to know enough about what they need until camp starts)

2) Aaron Rodgers will light it up for 35 passing/3 rushing TDs this year

3) All holdouts will sign by or start the regular season under their current contracts except Vincent Jackson (notice I said 'start the season' not 'enter camp')

JaMarcus Russell will throw for 5,000 yards.
In the California penal league? My 3:1. DeSean Jackson will defy his critics and finish as a top-3 WR in all formats.2. Percy Harvin is the 2010 breakout player of the year with almost 1,300 yards rush/rec and 10 TD's including returns. 3. Vincent Jackson will not follow through on his holdout threats and will be in the Chargers lineup in week 4.

Vincent Jackson comes into camp for final few days, AJ gives him the original one-year tender, long-term deal worked out during season, plays all 16 games and finishes in top ten.

Thomas Jones beats out Charles for starting job in camp (if competition is allowed)

Ricky Williams outscores Ronnie

Martz in Chicago lasts one year

I think some people are confused about the meaning of "give me something in here not based on stats."

1. Raiders and Chiefs beat out Chargers and Broncos.

2. Randy Moss loses all motivation and falls of a cliff.

I'll bet you a million dollars the bold doesn't happen.
What odds are you giving me. Given the latest news I'd say I should get about 15-1. BTW, don't have a million. How about $20?
He has a 3 game suspension looming. You can keep you're money. ;)

1) Beannie Wells will be ADP-light - without the fumbles. He'll end up a top 10 RB and a lock 1st rounder in 2011 redraft.

2) DeSean Jackson will be a top 10 WR.

3) The Vikings will not make the playoffs - whether or not Favre come back.

4) Matt Ryan will remind everyone why they were so high on him coming into 2009.

5) Wes Welker is done.

6) The Miami Heat will not make the NBA finals this coming season. Yeah, I'm not just about FF.

I know it's 6, not 3...I was feeling saucy.

1. The Packers will win no more than 9 games and will miss the playoffs: One of this offseason's darlings will disappoint this year. They will not see a repeat (or close to it) of their +24 turnover differential from last year, the defense will continue to struggle as they did down the stretch this past season, and Rodgers will still be a great fantasy option but will throw a significantly higher number of INTs. I also expect both the Lions and Bears to improve, which will help cut them down somewhat as well.

2. The Jets will miss the playoffs: It seems like every year we forget how much turnover there actually is in the NFL in terms of who makes the playoffs and takes the divisional crowns. Making the AFC Championship bodes well for their chances, but there's just a LOT of pressure on this team and I don't know if that defense can repeat last year's performance of being the top scoring defense in the league. I'm not big on Shonn Greene, I think Sanchez will struggle the more that is asked of him, and I think the Hard Knocks curse returns this year. They were just 7-7 last year before the Colts and Bengals laid down for them in consecutive weeks to close out the season. If the defense takes a step or two back (which I expect), throw in a tougher schedule with more teams circling the Jets on their calendar, and I think they miss out on the postseason.

3. Peyton Manning's Colts miss the playoffs as well: This is kind of a negative post, eh? Despite his best efforts, I think this is the season the Colts under Manning finally break their streak of consecutive playoff appearances. The running game will be nonexistent, the defense will struggle, and the offense will press too much. Injuries, turnovers, and post-SB fatigue will play a part of their demise as well. Nothing about this team really excites me except for Manning and the passing offense, and if he's not on his A game this year I think this is a legitimate possibility, especially since I think the Titans are going to rebound in a big way this season and the Texans will stay up there as well.

1. Tony Romo finishes as the top QB this year, and Barber scores more FP than Felix.

2. Justin Forsett, Bernard Scott, and Laurence Maroney all end up as "RB2"s this season.

3. Matt Forte is actually a decent RB2/flex play all year, and is a value in drafts. And, as you might know, I'm one of the biggest Matt Forte "haters" on the face of the board.

 :bag: hooked me on that one. Well done sir.

1.) Sidney Rice will double his TDs from last year.

2.) Steve Smith (Car) will have a career year.

3.) Jahvid Best becomes the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

OK, I'll play:

1: Ben Roethlisberger will come back from the suspension and play lights out, still finishing top 12 with only 12 games played.

2: Ricky Williams will lead the Dolphins in rushing this year.

3. Calvin Johnson will lead league in td receptions this year.

1) Moreno proves why he was a first round pick last year and is a top 10 RB in all formats (could push top 5 in PPR)

2) Claussen replaces Moore at some point due to poor play (I happen to think Claussen ends up being the best QB from this years class).

3) Massaquoi is a top 20 fantasy WR this season

Moss - Top 1 WR

Rodgers - Top 1 QB

Raiders win wild card, lose in 1st round

Owens brings back Hollywood Squares with him in the center, sry whoopie

Agree with 1 and 2, but Mass won't be in the top 35 WR's. I'll add that with the change to Clausen, the Panther's RB game will be way way overvalued. Meaning that D. Williams and J Stew will be relative busts for their ADP.

Eli Manning will be top 10 QB this year.

Zack Miller will be top 10 TE with Cambell at QB.

Chad Henne will surprise.

Philip Rivers will be the value play at QB

Texans will win the AFC South

Lions finish 2nd in the NFC North

Threads like this make me so pumped for the season!!

1.CJ will be this years forte

2. Rice will be this years CJ

3. Cutler throws 20 ints

1) Beanie Wells, blows up, finishes Top 5

2) Kevin Kolb finishes Top 5 QB ( pick)

3) Randy Moss makes the haters look silly finishes Top 3 WR
