The 100% claim is probably the easiet type of post to ignore. There is no doubt... 100% that this was on purpose.

Some of you clearly don't understand what doubt is. It's quite obvious that there *IS* doubt or else we wouldn't be having this discussion. And getting back to my earlier point, you have to factor in the field conditions. Look at his rush prior to the alleged "stomp" and you'll see he's slipping and taking choppy steps. The footing was absolutely terrible - people were slipping all over the place. There is no doubt... 100% that this was on purpose. Any athlete at the top of his game has this ability. I don't believe he was trying to maime Ricky... I think he knew Ricky was about to get up and get the fumble. So he pinned him down and used the stomp as leverage to cover the fumble first.
See, that's the problem. You young whippersnappers make decisons based on a lack of experience. Those of us who have been watching NFL games for 50 years don't see it that way.ETA: In all fairness, however, my grandaughter wasn't sure whether it was intentional or not. Then again, she's only 4.I have only seen about 40 years worth of NFL games, so I only have that as a basis to derive my opinion - that move/act was 100% intentional. Cheap. And calculated (yes, the brain can calculate pretty quickly...nano-seconds).
While doing a pushup or benchpress, you utilize your pecs and triceps. Ricky was doing the equivalent of a pushup to try to get up and go after the ball. So imagine benchpressing 100 lbs, and halfway on the press up, a 300lb weight is dropped onto the bar. Instant pec tear. Or in the case of a benchpresser, instant pec tear, and barbell on your neck... ouch. This thread is hilarious.People will go out of their way to stir **** up.I also like how some people know beyond a shadow of a doubt what his "intent" was.In all seriousness and since it's so blatantly obvious...Has the NFL fined Timmons?Wasn't Rickey's season ending injury listed as a torn pectoral? How do you tear a pectoral by getting your shoulder stepped on?
And a lot more than 300 pounds force considering Timmons' momentum, stomping action, and most of his weight and force being concentrated in such a small surface area (sole of one foot).Agreed... ouch. While doing a pushup or benchpress, you utilize your pecs and triceps. Some of us grew up playing sports every day of our lives... where football was religion and understand athleticism.... then again, I'm sure softball in central park takes a lot of skill. These guys see the game slower than you think. Don't you think Ricky's back was a little better than that field? These guys have excellent body control. It was a great play.... someone got hurt. It's football.*EDIT* to add.. my bad. I notice the law background. Word's like doubt and truth.. have total different meanings to you.corpcow said:Some of you clearly don't understand what doubt is. Is this haiku? There was a clear path for him to run towards the ball, but if you watch the video closely while running, Timmon'sleft foot clearly goes away from his intended path to stomp the fallen pot-boy.

I don't know about you.... but, for example in baseball... I could decide who I wanted to hit with the ball while I was batting. Football was the same way... I could throw the ball and hit someone in the nads, the helmet.. you name it. Everything went slow motion. The opportunity presented itself.. and he felt the flow. These professional athletes are on such another level and get in a flow that you could not even imagine how slow everything goes in their heads. When you see these guys running around on the field... it's not just that they're bigger, stronger, faster... I know everyone probably imagines what it would be like if they were the superman version of themselves. But, I'm done on it... some people on here understand that, some won't.....It's pretty apparent that many of the folks who "know" it was deliberate either haven't played a lot of sports or simply aren't recollecting their own experiences on the field. When you are giving every ounce of effort in the pursuit of one goal (that little football thingy) on wet, amazingly sloppy ground and other people are racing to the football at the same time, you can't control everywhere you step. If you could, you're not trying hard enough. Sell out, go get the ball. Sometimes things happen in the process.I can't believe this is still on the top page. (Guilty as charged, I know).

Have you ever watched some of these superhuman athletes try golf?I don't know about you.... but, for example in baseball... I could decide who I wanted to hit with the ball while I was batting. Timmons was criticized on talk shows in Miami for deliberately stepping on Williams, a charge he vehemently denies. However, according to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins reviewed film of the incident and believe it was an accident.
Shouldn't you pretty much be like the best hitter ever then? Or did you like aiming for people so much that you forgot that normally results in outs? Listen this was a quick play, and I don't care how much things slow down for your super athletes but this guy is a rookie who barely playes this year, since LBers in the 3-4 need time to learn, so I imagine things are still moving kind of quick for him out there. It looks questionable and theres no reason to assume that he was thinking more about stepping on williams then going for the loose ball in a scoreless games. That alone makes this not a dirty play and the reason why the league hasn't come down on him for it.montanagold said:I don't know about you.... but, for example in baseball... I studied the greats and worked at it... I didn't just swing, I could pick where I wanted to hit it and put it there. I was thinking of an unrelated incident that I'm not exactly proud of that did involve hitting someone on purpose. I never felt bad for aiming for the pitchers forehead... but, that's different story. Football was pretty much the same way. I can't explain the feeling or the ability to see things slow mo like that to you if you don't understand it. I'm just telling you theres more to it than chance for these guys. I happen to believe the whole thing happened because his motorskills / kinetic response saw Ricky getting up for the fumble and he made a good play to pin him down so he could get to it. I think he recognized the play before it happened and there's not much else to say about it.Shouldn't you pretty much be like the best hitter ever then?
