Northern CA Homers - Weather? (1 Viewer)

I'm forced into the position of possibly needing to ride Jason Campbell through the fantasy playoffs. I love this week's matchup, but have seen reports of the game possibly being played in a massive downpour, which of course is not good news for any QB. What's the word in Northern California on how the weather is going to affect today's Raiders - Broncos matchup?

Horrid conditions says weatherunderground. 15+ mph winds. loads of rain. My guess is a fast played game wth a lot of running on both sides. Not a good scenario for big points in the passing game.

I am curious why you would ask and risk possibly getting a biased answered vs consulting an up to the minute answer at a site like weather.com?

I have consulted multiple weather sites, but none say the severity of the rain. 100% chance of rain could be drizzle or downpour..... figured those experiencing it or viewing local news reports would have better information than can be gathered from a website.

It is blowing hard and dumping rain right now on the coast near San Francisco, but bay area weather is notoriously fickle, it can change quickly.

Weather.com says that the wind will be around 16 MPH, with an 80% chance of rain during the game. Expect rain. Expect wind.

I'm concerned, because I'm picking between Seabass kicking and the STL kicker - who is kicking in a dome.

Thoughts on that one?

I live about 15 miles east of the oakland stadium -- steady, but not hard, rain right now. remember that the bay area is notorious for having significant weather differences over even short distances because of the hills and the bay/ocean. still, local all-news station (kcbs) is saying rain all day, heavy at times, and windy.

Same decision here, and I've read enough to put Brown in the lineup over Seabass.

I live 10 minutes away from the stadium. Steady rain right now but not hard rain and there's not much wind. I concur with other posters though - things can change by the minute here. I'm not a weather person, but I would guess that things will get worse today based on the reports I've seen.

I personally wouldn't go near Campbell, but I've never liked him to begin with, so I'm biased.

Deciding between Winslow and Zach Miller right now. Zach might get a lot of looks in the rain?

There was an interesting interview with Louis Murphy where he said he liked playing in the rain because he could tell where he was going to make his cuts, but the DB's couldn't. So that was an advantage. Here's the link.http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2010...forward-to-mud/

FWIW, I think Miller benefits in the same way. His heel is all pretty much healed now. He's a good option, but so is Winslow.
